I have all sorts of feeders up and they are all very popular, my hubby has made a lot of nesting boxes and put them up all over the garden and over in the wood whare we can watch them from the window as soon as he puts a new one up the birds are in , it's lovely to watch them .

I miss that Nancy, thats the way it used to be with my feeders before we moved, we now live on the edge of a town next to lots of open countryside and there are bird tables in every ones gardens, so they dont come to visit me here they are far to well fed but I do miss watching the birds at my feeders

They'll come, Selina! We had to wait a few weeks on the field, too - and now they're there, munching away, getting very fat!

I've been waiting since September Jutta So far I have tried shop bought fat balls, home made fat balls, the square fat thingies with fruit, insects that sort of thing in them, fat in coconut shells. I have tried seed, peanuts (both shelled and unshelled). Fresh fruit, I have provided a water bowl for drinking and bathing in. I get the suspicion they just don't like me

Taken my time to notice this section My house is on a footpath facing a stream with plenty of trees on the bank so have put out loads of feeders - peanut, niger, seed, fat balls, suet blocks and sultanas for the blackbirds.Have a good array of birds feeding, the chaffinches at the moment are costing me a fortune in niger seed.Get a woodpecker occasionally on the suet block - and s/he was feeding a youngster earlier.Lots of tits including longtailed at the moment and we have kingfishers flying up and down but of course not feeding.

Our feeder is very popular. Usually sparrows, greenfinches, chaffinches and blue tits. Nothing seems to use the nest boxes we have put up which is a shame. We used to have a green woodpecker who came to visit in the winter, but no sign of him last winter. I can still hear woodpeckers regularly though so they haven't gone far. There are swallows now nesting in Tali's stable, last year they had 2 clutches.
