Well, I am done for! Despite taking regular breaks, including a whole hour off for lunch down at LT, my back is telling me enough is enough, now. I am confident that I've done 50 items, though, and hopeful I've reached the hundred. I won't know until James and Kerry do the official count tomorrow. Aiming to go and have a nice, long soak in Radox shortly.

Well, I got the soak, the candles and a nice cuppa, plus a bit of sleep, but my back still decided to have a little arachnoiditis flare, meaning I was up earlier than usual and doing what I could to prevent that getting any worse! Managed to load the finished items into the car and was first down at LT, having time to grab a cuppa and roll up the various items and pop elastic bands onto them before everyone arrived to do the actual count. James, Sue and Kerry work as auditors, so we can say we had the professionals on the job. The final total - much to my amazement was... 136!!! items, which James will verify later when he gets home and online. (He and Dai are currently busy erecting shelving in the workshop... My doctor is going to wipe the floor with me on Tuesday, Nicki... At least, he will if I have to beg him for steroids again! Radox, here I come again... Thank you all for the wonderful sponsorship, it really is much appreciated, and the maintenance crew have been hard at it all day today, and were still working when I left and a quarter to eight tonight to see to the poultry. They have racked out about half of the TRPD workshop and started filling all the shelves with the fabrics and webs. Tomorrow, we aim to do a bit more, and James and Kerry hope to start applying the masonry paint to the external walls to ensure those are weather-proofed before we get any serious rain. Next week, we should be able to get the generator and take the second industrail sewing machine down there, so that others can get used to using those to make dog coats etc. We'll also be having a digger in to level the area destined for a field shelter for the ponies and to park the caravan. We had a scare with that a few days ago, and when the factory building next to where it currently is caught fire! The fire then spread to the adjacent place on the other side - a car repair workshop and gutted that place, too! There were fire engines and police everywhere, and a couple of cars were also burnt out there, but thankfully, the fire didn't spread the other way. It seems it started after the owner of the first place to catch fire had been burning some rubbish outside. Everywhere is so dry around here, and his place was a timber workshop...

Hi All,
We had two auditors in attendance yesterday to count and verify the final number of pieces completed! After several cups of tea and a bit of head scratching the result was revealed Alison achieved an amazing 136 individual items inlcuding collars, leads, harnessess, and quilts all made to Alison's normal high standard.
Pictures of the items will be added later today by either myself or KerryG.
Am sure Alison will join me in thanking all those who sponsored this event your support is appreciated. We are now looking for volunteers to assist with applying the donations of paint to the exterior walls before winter.

al, I make mine £27.60. Could you confirm so I can pay. Well done!!! Elaine, I think it is actually £27.20p, but my maths is on a par with my techi ability, so please double check! Indeed, very grateful thans to all for the sponsorship and the extras. All is much appreciated, and is helping to ensure lots of progress is being made, and more local members are being attracted to the groups utilising the facilities at LT. We had another new member joius today - a junior lad, Bradley, who was so keen to get involved that he was asking for little jobs to do, such as topping up the feeders for the birds, who duly obliged and began emptying them again in front of our eyes! Bradley also took charge of washing up all the mugs without even being asked; did a couple of lovely drawings for us to frame and put up on the workshop walls, and then helped to sort pieces of fabric cut out for various things and get those onto the rapidly filling, new shelves! He and Kerry also groomed Merlyn, who thought his feed was late, so kept banging the gate and disturbing the peace and quiet! James and Kerry also made a start painting the outside of the workshop, and plan to return on Wednesday with another potential new member, who is keen to have a ride on Merlyn whilst here. Bron will be shod tomorrow, so she is able to continue her education both under saddle and in harness, and I spoke with someone this evening about getting the shafts on the trap widened a bit, so those will fit her. We'll need to modify the trap a bit more to create a box under the seat, so that we can carry things under there, and perhaps get the 'Llys Trerobert' group's name on there to attract more members and supporters. I don't think we'll be ready for the Lord Mayor's Horse Drawn Carriage Parade in Pontypridd this year, but perhaps next... ;D I also spoke to the chap with the caravan we are having, and he said he'll pull his finger out a bit to empty the things he is storing in it this week, so that we can get it moved and sorted out ready for members to use. (Hopefully by the beginning of August!)

Thanks, ladies. Only just come up from LT, where Sue and I, helped by young Bradley, have nearly finished sorting everything in the workshop that will fit onto the new racks of shelves - we canb finally see some patches of carpet! Still have a load of things to take down there though! Dai has tracked down the right type of generator, so we'll be ordering that over the next few days. We can then move the other industrial sewing machine down there and start showing some members how to use them. That should be fun.
