Many of the rescues here on the board are not represented by their own Rescue Representative and that means they could be missing out on many of the benefits that could otherwise be available.
If any of the unrepresented ones are local and known to you, would you consider becoming a Representative on their behalf and here on the board?
This is not a difficult position to hold and can require you to become responsible only for liaising with the rescue concerned and updating their threads with relevant news or information and current needs.
It is entirely up to the individual representatives how much or how little they do. All I can say is the more you put in, the more you will get out both on behalf of your rescue or rescues (if you are in a position to aid more than one) and personally, in terms of the satisfaction of giving just a little of your time towards easing the plight of animals in rescue.
If you are interested, please PM me. Thanks.
Al

That's fine, Selina, although I'll need to leave your main 'Quiz Adjudicator' title in place, as that allows you to access the archives for research purposes and the RR one doesn't. I'll see if I can add something to show the RR next to your team ID. Al

I have modified you profile to that of Rescue Rep now. I see that you take in horses; if you can use some spare bride cheek pieces (new) please PM me your name and address and I'll pop a few pairs in the post to you. Al

Hi Ditzylips and welcome to TRPD Thanks for volunteering to be a rescue rep - do you have a rescue you would like to represent? If not, don't worry, we will find one for you!! Basically it just means liasing with the rescue with regard to anything they may need, or events they are holding; also maybe passing on details for the Coldies and Oldies project currently running. If you could PM Al - if you look at the top of this thread, under the photo of the horse, and click on the right hand icon {it will show as SEND PM} she will advise you further.

I'm happy to represent someone but don't know how to go about it. Firstly, do you have a favourite rescue? If so, then I'd suggest that you have a chat with them and ask if they would be interested in being represented here? Perhaps explain a little of what we do in the group and how we may be able to help them. Basically, being a Rescue Rep means that you post any news updates about their activities, fund-raising, needs etc. Also nominate them when rescue nominations are invited for various things and act as a liaison between your rescue and the group/group members. Perhaps also taking part in the quizzes and competitions on their behalf and to gain them some prizes. Let me know once you have a rescue and I'll modify your profile to reflect that.

I've been having a think has i don't have favourite and any names that came into my head already seem to represented so if you could put me in touch with someone that would be grand and i can then find out exactly what they want of me and start them benefitting hopefully.

Does anyone know if The Cinnamon Trust have a specific Rescue Representative here on the board? If not, then perhaps they would appreciate your help? www.cinnamon.org.uk/

They were nominated for a Christmas parcel, and send a letter to thank the group for that, which I have posted in that thread in the Staff Room here for all to see.

Hi Al
As I do a lot to help Fionna at Lizzies's Barn would I be able to be a representative for her rescue?
Thanks
Olga

At the moment I think Lesley is representing both Lizzie's Barn and Trallwm Farm, but why not get together via PMs and perhaps you can work something out, Olga?
