OMG just checked my e-mail for the first time in days. I can't believe this and my heart goes out to Al's family and friends. I have never met Al but many an e-mail has passed between us, when she was doing an order for me or just a bit of idle chit chat. She always had time to help out and share a few words, a lovely lady who im sure will be greatly missed : (
Sleep Tight Al

I am truly sorry to hear this awful news I only ever had contact with Al through this site/project, but she was clearly a very dedicated and caring woman. My thoughts are with everyone who is missing her right now.xxx

Al was a very special amazing lovely person with a magnaminous heart. Unfortunately I never met Al but we had exchanged messages and spoken on the phone. An enormous and sad loss for her family, friends and the many rescues and individuals she helped. Condolences to all who knew and loved Al. (((hugs)))

I never met Al, and was only on this forum for a few weeks before she died, but she impressed me so much with what she was trying to do here. Just hope she approves of what we are trying to continue with the Sunday Night Quizzes on foa-rct.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=quizzyWhen we first moved over to the FOA RCT forum, Eileen Jones posted an amazing coincidence: Something very spooky happened today.Sometime last week someone left a bag in Treorchy shop containing new I Need A Home Leads and collars. These were the thing that I bought most of on TPLR as however many I bought they always seemed to go missing and I have missed not being able to get them anymore.
This morning Jan, Lou, Tracey (Joy who runs Treorchy shop daughter) and I had a discussion about where the leads could have come from. This afternoon I spoke to a lady who I have not been able to contact for ages and who adopted a Westie from me some years ago. She deals in used books and would buy boxes of books from us. When my phone got damaged last year I lost her number.
By sheer coincidence I spoke to her today regarding a stray dog and she asked me if I had received the bag of leads. It turned out that a couple of months ago she was in an auction sale rooms in Pontypridd when she bought a job lot of various fabrics. In with them were a load of INAH leads and collars some unfinished. It was her partner that had dropped them off.
She new nothing of TRPD and I was able to fill her in on the set up and also how the quiz had moved to this forum. I am so amazed by this series of events and find it just a little spooky. I would like to think she Al had hand in it and that it was her thank you to FOARCT, not needed but nonetheless appreciated. Sleep well, Alison. You will never be forgotten.

Goodness - what a sad and horrible shock. Not been on here in ages and was thinking to link up with exactly this wonderful lady from whom I bought a beautiful leather lead some years ago, made up by a saddler she knew. We shared the pleasure in such a quality item and I was hoping to get another.
Very belatedly my heartfelt condolences to all her many friends and to family. x naomi
