I think so too, Ann. The same person came up with the names for some other TRPD groups, such as 'The Cooks & Crooks' (sheep farming familes into good home cooking) and the 'Hacks and Hookers' (retired journalists/reporters who do rug-hooking) and a few more besides.

Maybe it should be called 'The Mousies Galore Group' then? pmsl - As many as I can send, you say? ;D That is what I like to hear, but please, I don't want to see it again, not even as mice!

I've just asked Al for some fleece off cuts and I've got some wool coming from the Refuge Auction, so if anyone has any links to sewn or knitted dog or cat toys I'd be grateful if they could stick them up for me. My knitting and sewing is fairly basic

Hi GSDFan This is the link for the mouse toy although it looks like quite a few of us are doing it without feet. sewing.about.com/library/aacattoy.htmTo make this even easier I have been cutting the tail from a strip of felt (no sewing that way) and have been stitching felt ears on afterwards instead of cutting the fabric. Oh and I have not been putting the opening on them either just leaving a gap to turn it inside out and then sewing it up after stuffing. Then eyes, nose and whiskers are sewn on in a different colour. And this is a link for a knitted mouse www.omegageek.com/knitting/knittedmice.html

We are hoping also not to just do mice, I came up with the idea of two hearts sewn back to back and then turned inside out possibly adding a bell at the top so if anyone has any small bells they no longer need we can certainly make use of them please.

Selina I have just remembered the scrapstore sells bells at 6p each and would also probably have material and ribbon you could use What about fish shaped toys too

Thanks Ali, I had forgotten about the scrap store, I'll have to try and get down there some time this week.
I have just cut out 40 heart shapes to sew 20 cat toys, I have a little ribbon here somewhere as well.
I also had another idea which I am going to put to the test, I have cut out some slightly larger heart shapes which I can stuff and add lavendar to for drawer/wardrobe fresheners, plenty of lavender here to that I can dry, perhaps these can go in the next postage auction.

A large parcel of off-cut packs went out today, but now I am wondering if I have mixed up who wanted those? (The ID names confuse me!) However, each of tthe addresses I have been sent has now had offcuts posted out to them.

All the hearts are now sewn and ready for stuffing, I think I've got just enough scraps left to fill what I have here. I've also just cut the first batch of catnip for drying, hopefully the plants will grow back enough to get at least a second batch this year. As you can see complete with cat hair already, I had to wrestle Tgo and Scamp away from it ;D And I've managed to cut some lavender to dry for the larger hearts to make into drawer and wardrobe fresheners, its the first time I've put the lavendar to use instead of letting it scent the garden and attract the bees and butterflies. Still lots of it out there for there use as well.
