Hi i'm new to this site, and still trying to find my way around so please excuse me if i've put this in the wrong place. We hopefully will be fostering for a rescue kennels and thought it would be good to have a 'I need a home' Collar and Lead. Can some one please point me in the right direction and let me know where i could find such a thing. thanks

Welcome to TRPD
Could you let us know what size collar to go with a standard lead or would you want a slip lead that fits all

I like the look of the 6' adjustable to half length leads. And the Collar would be needed for a Cocker spaniel sized dog, although this would need to be adjustable for small/medium sized dogs
If i can find out the cost of the different options (a) collar with the adjustable lead. (b) the collar with a standard lead. (c) the slip lead
I can make a more informed choice

Hi Mike, welcome to the group. Collars are £4 each and come in sizes 1" apart from 13" long up to 25" long. Normal clip and/or slip leads are £4.00p each, and a 6' lead with a rng on the handle for adjustment is £5.50p. We also have packs of 3 or 6 collars in different sizes available for £10 or £20 respectively at the moment, if you feel you would need a range of sizes for foster dogs.

Thanks for that Right having given it some thought - I think for the easiest option regarding the different sizes i will go for the slip lead and forget the adjustable one for the moment. Now i just need to work out how to order and pay for it. Edited - Payment sent for the slip lead through paypal. I hope iv'e done it right. Any problems please let me know.

Thank you very much!!! When you have your fosterer and know their size you can always come back for a collar ;-) Consider it ordered

Are there any "I need a home"-collars suitable for Greyhounds at all? I'd like to get some for Greyhounds 4U, but I just don't know enough about Greyhounds to know which collars might be suitable if they are not 'expressly' Greyhound-collars.

It's the width of the collars that makes the difference, Jutta. Normally greyhounds have wider colars than 1", which is what they are because that is the width of the webbing. Saying that, if the grehounds are not inclined to pull, or strain against their collars, or likely to set out to slip those, they may well be okay for them to use. Best to see what the rescue thinks. I know some use slip leads, which could be an option for use at events such as meet and greets.
