Hi guys I am hoping you wonderful people may be able to help me. I need a harness but something a bit special. Let me explain............ One of our epileptic residents has slightly unusual fits which result in him charging around like a maniac, trying to climb walls etc, which is a danger to himself and the other dogs. In order to be able to get hold of him and keep him calm we replaced his collar with a harness which he wears all the time which gives us a better means of grabbing and holding him. His current one is a trail style which works fine to a point but sadly it is starting to rub him round the chest (guess its not a TRPD one as it does have rough edges ). Also he can manage to wriggle out of it if the episodes are severe. What we need is something padded and comfortable enough to be worn all the time, secure enough not to be wriggled out of and it needs the strap down the back like a trail harness so that we have a "handle" to grab him by. Can you suggest anything "off the peg" that may do the trick or is there any chance of a "bespoke" item to do the job. Eddie is a staffie x around beagle size/build but I can provide exact measurements if needed. Thanks for reading and we are hoping that you can help. Rachel www.poplarfarmkennels.org.uk

Hi Rachel, Possibly, a comfort webbing, escape proof harness would work? That webbing is very soft. Can you let me have some measurements, please, including the larges circumference of the dog's head, as well as his neck, chest and waist, plus the distance along his back from where the front of the collar part of the harness sits, to a point above the narrowest point of his waist, and in front of his 'tackle', so that the rear strap doesn't interfer with that. We can but make one up for him and you can try it.

That sounds super. Will get the tape measure out later and get someone to make him stand still. Thanks a million.

Thanks, Rachel. I take it you don't mind what colour, as long as a masculine one? ;D

Not bothered at all. He is ginger so pink might clash a bit but whatever you have will be fine.
