Firstly, I have added quite a few more items to various sales threads. Some of these things have been asked for, but PMs to say they are ready have had no response, as yet, hence they have been listed. Secondly, we have been doing what we can to amke it easier for members to find the items and threads they require, and also to add photos to the sale threads, but it seems there is still room for improvement. Therefore, please say how you think things can be improved and made easier. I'd especially welcome comments here from our newer members who may not yet be familiar with the forum. Thanks. Yesterday, when in the workshop, I was looking at the various fabric pieces we have available for coats/raincoats in limited quantities. Some of these are really lovely quality, but there's only enough to make one or, perhaps, two from each piece. I'd really welcome some idea of what sizes/styles might be most needed by members, and before I get too into cutting this fabric up. Some of the colours are lovely - e.g. apple green and also terracotta waterproof material, amongst others. There is also a very little pastel blue and pastel pink faux suede with a bonded sherpa fleece lining, and like the chocolate brown used for the faux suede chillcheater sighthound coats. There will also be some faux animal print ponyskin ones, and others trimmed with faux fur. Fabrics like these cannot be repeated, and I am hoping to get them made up for a special auction sale of K9 fashion exclusives and limited edition coats and raincoats (and possibly collars, too) to be held in September. Feedback as to what you'd like to see in that sale would be useful. I can't promise anything, other than to do my best. It'll also give those of you who may want to save a few pennies for the sale a chance to do so.

Blimey Al you've only just got back and have been so busy, well done to you! I think the layout in the Sales threads has already much improved in the last month, it's now alot clearer and easier to find things. The more pics as examples the better though as it does help you realise what they actually look like and work. Coat sizes from here would be abit centred around Sighthounds I'm afraid For coats - 27inch 28inch 29inch 30inch For collars anything from 16inch to 19inch. For ideas for the smaller pieces of fabric what about? - Snoods lined with Sherpa fleece for those really chilly winter days - Bandanas and if anyone is good with sewing letters - the words Princess, Sargeant Sniffer, Top Dog, I'm Perfect and things - Treat bags/pouches - Sherpa fleece lined harness I'd love to see some Sherpa fleece XXL sized covers for dog beds (one you could fold a standard or double duvet in) - Snuggle sacs lined with Sherpa fleece from small to XXL for Greyhounds - Various strips of fleece about 1cm wide each (around 10 of them) and 40cm long (you could even use remnants of fabric) then tied in a knot at the top - excellent ragger toys for dogs and easy peasy to make, the look like a Wubba Kong lol but instead of a ball it's a knot at the end. The dogs love them!!! least mine do anyway . - Leads with sherpa fleece lined handles, nice and toasty for a winters walk OK I shall shut up now with my silly ideas .

I think the addition of more photos is a very big plus and should entice more people as they have more of an idea of what they are getting. You must have known we are saving up to stock up on coats for our holiday at the beginning of November! Chilli loves the sound of the pastel blue faux suede in a 21" size to keep her little body nice and warm - she would also like a nice warm raincoat in a blue as well. As for Mooch if you have anything red she would love that in a 26" size again she is looking for both a warm coat and raincoat. Gringo thinks he would look snazzy in a 26" apple green raincoat and would also like a nice warm coat aswell. Black coats with faux fur linings sound like a nice idea too. I think the idea of sherpa fleece lined harnesses is great, Chilli would love one as she wears a harness fairly often and it does seem to rub a bit on her belly at times.

greytsaluki - you have some fab ideas there, honestly. It's great to hear the kind of things that people would find useful in addition to the collars, leads and other great products that are made already.

Some excellent iteas so far, thanks.
Can someone with a large greyhound please give me an idea of size for a snuggle-sack? We have some quilted fabric that might be idea to make those with.
Have cut out a few more 'designer' coats, along with some interesting backing pieces for some one-off Armagos-style house/kennel collars. Also fleece pieces that would line lead handles.

I've just measured the bed our Greyhounds most use which is the biggest and one of them can stretch out on it so roomy and for a greyhound to 'snuggle' nicely I'd go for this size - 32 inches/80 cm's Width (shorter sides) 52 inches/130 cm's Length

Thanks, Andre' - that's BIG! I'll need to try to source some sherpa fleece for lining at the right price. I gather that, with the recession and exchange rates, its having an effect on the imports of fleece, hence our usual supplier has no good deals available at present.

Yes that is big Al . I don't know if these are more expensive or you use them already but this place often has fleece in a good selection of patterns and sometimes has specials on www.fabricland.co.uk, just look down the left hand side and click on the relevant fabric that your looking for.

Thanks for that, if our trade suppliers can't help, we may need to use them, so have made a note of the web address for reference. Doubt it can be this month, though, as the INAH web order is due to arrive, and we need to rasie some funds to pay for that lot first.

Fabrics like these cannot be repeated, and I am hoping to get them made up for a special auction sale of K9 fashion exclusives and limited edition coats and raincoats (and possibly collars, too) to be held in September. Is it September yet Al ... you know my sighthounds like to have limited editions in their wardrobes for special occasions I like greytsaluki's ideas, particularly the treats/pouches one ... would it be possible to make them so they could be attached to the Reclaimingrebus Walking Belt (big enough to hold mobile phone and box of cigarettes ) Did you get any chance to think any further about making up some fleece padding for equine head collars ... I've two rescues that insist on rubbing their faces against things when wearing headcollars which as you know causes hair loss under their jaw bones/behind ears, etc If you've more INAH webbing coming in perhaps you could make a few of the armargo housecollars up with that webbing for sighthound rescues (obviously the price would have to be a bit more on account of that webbing being more expensive but I think they would still be worth it on account of their quality) Sheena

Out of interest, Sheena, what size are the head rubbing equines, please? A while ago we had some headcollars available here with padding on, but they didn't sell and were, I think, given away to a rescue. (If they weren't, they must be buried here amongst things in the w/s!)
Do you thing a simple, draw-string pouch would work as a treat bag? Those could probably be toed onto any belt or popped into a pocket.

One of the ponies, Kelly, is 12-13hh and the other, Anna, is approx 14.2hh. Kelly wears a cob size head collar. Anna's head is finer due to her being more blooded, atm I think she is wearing a cob head collar on its smallest hole. A drawstring bag would be okay Al ... cant put in pocket though ... the days I wear my reclaimingrebus belt are the ones I don't have pockets or wet days when my phone or fags would get wet/damp in the pocket of my raincoat I have one drawstring bag at the moment on the belt but when the string is pulled closed I have been known to get it caught on sheep wire when climbing over fences Sheena

I will have to have a think about the treat bag idea, Sheena. Cheap bum-bags are something that might do the job and are widely available at prices we simply couldn't compete with.
When at the feed store yesterday, I looked at things like headcollars and their prices, and it might be possible to make simple fleece sleeves that could be slid over an adjustable noseband or headcollar headpiece, but it's fairly obvious we can't compete with the prices of cheaper imported things like this. In fact, when I took a look at the cost of fittings, and the effect the recession and exchange rate differences on the cost of those to us, it became obvious that we will need to increase many of our prices. I looked at one website claiming it had 'The Best Prices on the Web' and discovered many of our prices were significantly less than theirs! In fact, a small dog coat that appeared on a par with a similar sized on of ours that we have on offer for £7.50 (including p & p), was over £13 on their site, and postage was on top of that!
Okay, so theirs IS a commercial site, but we do still need to make some profit in order to fund the prizes and donations we make to rescues, and via projects such as The Wish List one.
On a brighter note, I should soon have some of your 'Armagos' collars available and made with the INAH web. IF we have ore members actively helping to spread the word about those and the other things we have available, it should be possible to price those the same as the regular ones. They are so beneficial to rescues, that I can see a strong demand for them as donations to rescues, and whether thay are sighthounds of any other breed to wear as kennel collars.

INAH harnesses would be fantastic for all the rescues..especially for the smooth short haired doglets..lol
but they alsi need to be made for the jrt and the small dogs with the finer fitttings as well as sometimeds the fittings are heavier than the dogs..lol carole

Hello! Do you have any pictures of the trims used on the decorative collars and leads? I've seen few on the threads but just wondered if you had any of the others? It's time Freda was treated to a new smart collar and lead but I'm a fusspot..

I'm hoping that Mary has taken some pics of ones that were sent to her, but if there's a particular one (or colour/width) you've seen described, and would like to see a pic of, please post, as someone may have something with it, and can help out. There are dozens of different ones.

I'm not sure really - would just like a nice red collar and lead with a goldy patterned trim perhaps? Her neck is 17-18" - don't really mind about the width.
wave & leaf design, gold metallic design, dark red, purple and gold metallic, wave & leaf design, floral & geometric shapes, red, and two shades of gold metallic decorative trim, black & gold metallic floral and diagonal, symmetrical design, red and gold metallic floral design, decorative trim
These all sound nice - anything a bit floral or traditional.
Thanks!

This is what the red, black & gold metallic floral and diagonal geometric design decorative trim looks like on a red webbing - It is really nice, especially in the sunshine. It is much brighter and shinier than this picture shows.
