We have a lot of similar coloured pigeons in this area...perhaps crossbreeds from escaped racers. So pigeon is my best guess too.

aw - well it was sitting under the cats bush in their little hidey hole! The cats weren't interested in it, and he wasn't bothered by them. Hopefully he got some strength up to fly away, there aren't feathers round the garden to suggest otherwise!
Was just really the strange the way they all happily sat in really close proximity to each other without being interested in each other!
Whilst my cats aren't nightmare birders - they've caught but not harmed 2 birds in 7 years between them! It was slightly odd to see them not even want to play with the bird. Maybe they empathised with it needing some rest!!
