My latest foster cat has arrived , an emaciated 1kg. little old lady which had been living in someone's garden for some time. She ended up via the vet in a local charity, is on treatment for hyperthyroidism. She is very malnourished (the thyroid problem won't have helped) but has a great zest for life and is responding well to treatment. I was due to take another elderly rescue (my specialty) taken to the vet but he was sadly pts, hence a foster space - hence Twiggy! I have improvised a couple of bodywarmers for her out of cut off sweater sleeves but am now looking for very small size body warmers until she regains some acceptable bodyweight. I'm no good with a needle and thread by the way! Any ideas will be welcome; the larger pet stores do sell chihuahua size items but they tend to be a bit funky with lots of prints etc. - I'm not old fashioned but I don't want to dress her up. In the past, for similar cases I've used baby vests, babygros and similar.

I'm afraid that I can't help with tiny bodywarmers, but would suggest you speak with the manager/s of your local charity shop/s and ask if they have anything that might be suitable to improvise with. The sleeves of kiddies fleece jumpers or baby items that are, perhaps, not suitable to sell on, may well be donated by them for such a cause/purpose.
Possibly members here with children may have things they could donate, too?
We have a thread for items wanted/available to donate.

Thank you for your prompt response and suggestions. As I said, I have used all sorts to improvise in the past and so far the sweater sleeves are proving very successful with the cuffs providing a sort of polo neck effect for her!Fortunately my grandchildren provide a supply of grown out of/grown fed up of clothes which should see her through until she regains some body weight. Sally.

Awwww bless her. No practical suggestions, but glad she's found her way to safety with you.
