As you probably know, the TRPD building down at Llys Trerobert, now has a roof and a door! It still needs a coat of paint and fitting out; a generator for power, and various other things for comfort etc., and the cark park needs a lot of work, BUT it can provide shelter to enjoy a flask of tea and a sandwich for those who wish to take advantage of the super dog walks on the adjacent hills/tracks, and off-road parking.
I have spoken with Wendy (Goingtothedogs) who is based in Cardiff, and she has kindly agreed to become one of the key holders, and hopes to visit and view the site and area for a dog walk over the half-term.
Facilities are far from finished, and will be rather basic, but besides the walking, there is the Lady Windsor cycle trail (route 47) from Cilfynydd, that lies adjacent to the eastern boundary, and is easy to access from the site.
For the photographers, there's a wealth of nature related subjects on the doorstep, and the scenery even includes views of the sea, some 16 miles away to the south, from the hills and on a clear day.
Those wishing to do a bit of painting - whether on paper, canvas, or the building walls ;D, may care to check out the local weather forecast on Metcheck.co.uk and this should be the local forecast link: Llys Trerobert Weather Check.
Anyone interested in helping to create the bird garden or help to plant hedges, will be more than welcome, and lots more besides.
There are also brown trout in the boundary river, should anyone be into fishing and worms plentiful in the stable's manure heap!
The address for the building and your sat navs (but not for post!) is:
The Stables, Llys Trerobert, Old Parish Road, Ynysybwl, PONTYPRIDD, Mid Glamorgan, CF37 3EY
However, work at the site is ongoing, so please can anyone planning to visit arrange things with me for the time being, as there is still a lot of work to be done there and parking is going to be limited, plus gates will need to be unlocked etc. Thanks.
