The W & W group has decided to have a small, free entry, photo competition, and with the general idea of using copies of the winning and also best runner-up pictures as notelets, embroidery charts and other items that can be made and sold as fund-raisers for various wildlife related projects - e.g. providing a bucket of fat balls per week in the local areas covered! (We get through about 50 fat balls a week and in just three local locations!)
They would like to invite members of the online group to enter as well.
All you need do is post your own, original, WINTER themed photos in this thread, and according to the class criteria, which are:
1. Woodland Wildlife.
2. Garden Visitors.
3. River, Lake or Shoreline Life
4. Mountain & Moorland Mammals & Birds.
There are no entry fees, but competitors must own the copyright of any pictures listed and be willing for thier work to be used for the purposes above.
There will be a small prize for the photos the judges like best in each class, and judging will take place at the end of December - probably over the last weekend in that month.

I totally missed your replies, Ann and Margaret! Thank you! I just remembered I had another photo (which I had to scan as it's a few years old) which might be suitable:

Ooops - I just realised that it's supposed to be winter-themed... SORRY!!! At least the photo of the birds of prey was taken in winter (I've never experienced any snow to talk about where I live here!)
Anyway - I'm taking the liberty to make this into an announcement as I have the strong feeling that not a lot of people have seen this!

When does this one close? I am going up to Barmouth in a couple of weeks and should be able to get a few there..
.....went to Slimbridge WWT a few weekends ago and saw some birds I have never seen before (I have never been there before either - it was lovely, I was with some very good friends who were equipped with binocs and a telescope even!! My camera is not good enough to do distant shots sadly)
The pics posted here in this thread are fantastic - well done photographers - if only I could get some like that!
