I spent last Sunday traipsing round local garden centres in the hope of finding some grit for my drive. I failed to find grit, but I did make an impulse buy - a brid table which was reduced. I put it near to the house as a temporary location as the spot I'd like to put it in is full of wood that I need to take to my Mum's house for her fire but can't fit into my little car. I didn't think the birds would be brave enough to visit it so close to the house, but clearly in this cold weather they need the food and dare to come closer to the house.

Its astonishing how brave they get when they are hungry enough - we once had a flock of fieldfares within 20 ft of the kitchen window, stuffing themselves on the cotoneaster berries

I finally managed to get the car into use today, and was desperate to get into town to the bank and needed a printer cartridge. As I walked between the two places, I spotted a wooden bird table very like yours on offer for £8.99 in a sale... Shall we make it two impulse buys and yes, I aim to put this one outside the kitchen window.
