I have first heard of them a long time back when they arrived in the pound. Glor's owner had decided to kill him, he first put a plastic bag over his head and when that didn't work, he took a hammer to him. Glor and Sophie were removed and the pound was ordered to hold the dogs pending prosecution. After over a year in the pound they were released to me but I still can't rehome them as the prosecution is still pending. The man legged it to the UK.
Sophie
Glor was one of the worst cases I ever came across as he received no vet med treatment in the pound and arrived in a deploreable state. His skull had been crushed and grew back together crooked, he had countless bone splinters in his body and had broken rips which had never been fixed. His tail was so bad that a good bit had to be amputated. His testicles were squashed and when the vet neutered him he had to remove the whole scrotum as it had growths in it. He was very thin and had a bad skin infection which had spread over his whole body.
Glor on arrival
He had to have countless xrays and had to be operated on. All that could not have been done in one operation and he was the first dog I asked for sponsorship for. The reaction was overwhelming and TRPD was great, they donated items for the two dogs and enough money was raised to operate Glor and have Sophie spayed!
Sophie is now in a foster home which will be her forever home should she ever be released by the courts. Glor is here at EGAR and became a calm, glossy little *maggot*. He gained weight and has put all the pain behind him. He's got a great temperament and is fairly laid back.
Glor now
Si, if you have a close look, you might recognise the collar and lead!
