Inspired by the calendar competition, I decided to try and take some Christmassy photos of the three dogs together to use for our Christmas cards, so armed with various festive items and copious amounts of treats, here’s a little photo story.
Call three dogs to sitting room.
Light wood burner with newspaper to give ‘flame effect’
Remove small lurcher from sofa.
Remove stocking from mouth of small lurcher.

Remove Santa hat from mouth of large lurcher.
Remove large lurcher from sofa.
Remove small lurcher from mouth of large lurcher.

Fetch festive throw for sofa.
Relight stove.
Fetch collie back from front of AGA (she has worked out the stove is for effect only today)
Place Santa hat on large lurcher’s head.
Photograph large lurcher prone as hat clearly too heavy (or is he laughing at me?)

Remove stocking from small lurcher’s mouth.
Stuff stockings with treats.
Relight stove.

Put kettle on.
Encourage three dogs onto sofa.
Break up tag wrestling match.

Decide to photograph dogs individually.
Photograph small lurcher the split second before he leaps off sofa and onto head of large lurcher.

Relight stove.

Confine lurchers to kitchen.

Open bottle of wine and resolve to buy cards this year and have ‘down stays’ 100% by next year!
