Hi all! Nice to join you here I'm Kay and from Kent. I am a volunteer for Friends Of The Animals RCT (a wonderful animals rescue from South Wales). Unfortunately I currently don't have my own dog but really hope to have one again in the future... well I say one I am currently a student and hope to, in the not to distant future, go to veterinary university and become a vet. I really hope I can accomplish this but it means I am going to have to put 200% into my work and hold off on the dog front... This is Rosie, my dear Collie X JRT who unfortunately I had to return to rescue in September due to some very unfortunate family issues... it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do and I still miss her dearly She has recently (I keep in contact with her new owner) been diagnosed with cataracts. The poor girl has gone almost completely blind in her right eye and her left eye is taking the same turn... I am worried about her and she is in my head even more than usaul... as is her lovely owner Jojo who must be feeling a lot worse than me. On a lighter note, I am very pleased to join you here on this wonderful forum and I think it is brilliant that you're helping animal rescues so much so thank you for the fantastic work you do, I hope I can start to get involved in it here myself. xxxx

Welcome to the group, Kay and I 'd like to wish you every success with your studies to become a vet. Rosie looks very sweet, and I can feel for you, having to decide to return her to the rescue. The old collie here appears now to be developing a cataract, too, although seems to cope well enough at present. I am sure your soon be able to find areas of interest to get involved with, and the quizzes can be a good, fun way to win something for rescues. Often, there are not enough competing to win all available prizes, so we are keen to encourage new members to have a go.
