Hi Amanda Welcome to this great group. I love the items you've entered in the craft challenge, especially the life-size greyhound - it's fab! We'd love to see a photo of Blue - we all like looking at photos of other peoples dog I've got some Giant African Land Snails too - they're called, Gary, Harry, Larry and Barry There are always great things going on on the board. As well as the challenges there are the weekday and sunday quizes where you can win some great prizes for your favourite rescue. And of course there are lots of luverly items to buy in the sales threads. I look forward to chatting to you soon Julie

Hi Amanda.
Welcome to the board, anything you can't find just ask.
Can we have some pics of your snail, I have snails on my wish list at present, but rams-horn snails.

Please can you tell me more about looking after and the care of Donald? ;D I am seriously thinking of getting a couple, and wonder if they would help with recycling household waste? That as well as proving interesting to my grandson. I have a compost bin outside where, apparently, I'm 'farming worms and slugs', so why not a giant snail or two as well?

What ever you do don't put 2 in together As they are hermaphrodites you would end up with LOADS of snails. He is really easy to keep. He lives in a tank in the hall with compost on the bottom. They need a cuttle fish to keep their shells strong, like most leafy veg. Spinach is very popular with Donald as is apple. Water they tend to drink via droplets on the side of the tank so just keep the soil moist. He also likes beer v. occasionally! Any other questions just ask ;D They are the coolest pet ever for a young boy! My son's friend looked after him whilst we were away and was non to keen though. He put the cucumber in his tank using a fork and spoon. Think he thought Donald would savage him.....

Welcome to the site. Love the variety of animals you have. Snails for composting - now there's an idea - don't know if my pack would let it alone though!
If you have a particular rescue you support, and would like to represent them on this site, suggest them for prizes for comps, get the 20% from the sales of a store, for the month, then let me know and I'll make you a 'rescue rep'.
See you around I hope
Carolyn
