The time has come to attempt to raise some extra funds for a generator down at the new workshop and I am running out of ideas! I wondered if any members could help with this, and perhaps come up with some novel ways to raise about £100 - £140 specifically for this? We need one capable of running a couple of industrial sewing machines, and that can also be started easily, perhaps with a button to push, rather than a cord to pull, due to me being a bit wrecked when it comes to giving hard tugs at things! It will also mean that we can get those planned workshops going, and members can learn to make dog things to help rescues etc. I'll be asking Dai (Sue's husband) to investigate the actual power requirements of the machines, as I don't understand this, and to identify the best generator for our purpose, and also to wire things up in the workshop so that we can have lighting there, too. Perhaps someone might like to run a photo show or something? The GFG group and W & W groups have things planned, but those are longer term, such as offering plants for sale and that are no more than seeds going into pots now! Any suggestions?

It's rather a lot of money for a single individual to sponsor, Elaine, but I have put the word out locall for things that we can auction to try and raise the money, and have been promised some things already. Have also been sorting some materials and trims out down at LT that we can offer, but forgot the camera. Dai is going to get an accurate price tonight on the type of generator we will need. I've had some fabric off the craft group to make up into thngs like pet duvet covers that we can sell towards it, too. Will make a start on those after I've had a bath. (Overdid things again today, so need a Radox soak!)

Do you mean run a photo show from this forum? I could do that, would need to think of a judge!

Yes, and if you can run it, that would be great, thanks. I'll find you some decorative collars as prizes, if you like.

OK no problemo, I've always fancied running a photo show! Collars would make great prizes.
Do I have free rein or do you want particular classes etc?

Although I think any classes need to be as inclusive as possible, I think it would be nice to have a class for old/veteran dogs/pets, and rescued pets and, perhaps, one or two for types of pets other than cats and dogs. ;D A 'comical critter' or captioned photo with humourous content might also be fun, but really, if you are running the class, the choice should be yours. Over to you, and I'll make the collars according to the dimesions needed by winners, once those are known. ETA: IF I get our overlocker machines back and working correctly soon, I can also make up some cat blankets as alternate prizes for cats, or possible the odd nylon headcollar or lead rein for a winning horse or pony.

OK, let me get my thinking cap on and I'll get back to you shortly! I love captioned photo classes too, gives folk a chance to air all those weird pictures of their pets!
