Hi all, sorry to ask for money so shamelessly but I'm sure you will all agree it's for a good cause.
The PFSS is a great but small charity who foster dogs, cats and other animals for anyone in Scotland (there are other charities doing the same job which already cover England) who cannot look after their pet on a temporary basis (eg a hospital stay or temporary homelessness). The majority of our animals come from elderly people who may be rushed into hospital with little or no notice. Their website is www.pfss.org.uk and they are a registered charity.
Sasha is a young collie cross who was in PFSS care when she had an accident, jumping off a wall and landing badly on her paw causing an unusual and severe fracture.
Vet costs remain the responsibility of the pet owner while they are in PFSS care but unfortunately her young owner had been made temporarily homeless and did not have the funds to pay for the essential vet bill, nor did she live in a PDSA region. The owner's vet was left with two options, to amputate her leg or if this bill could not be covered, to euthanize.
Sasha is a young dog, full of life so we did not want to see her unnecessarily euthanized and are attempting to fundraise to cover the bill. Sasha's story emphasises the need for our hardship fund and we would greatly appreciate any donations or dedications to fundraise. Lack of funds is always an ongoing concern but this year has been particularly difficult for us.
If you are able to donate in some way this would be extremely welcome. Cheques should be made payable to PFSS and sent to PO Box 6, Callander, FK17 8ZU
Alternatively you can become a Friend of PFSS for just £5 per year, these payments go directly to the hardship fund. www.pfss.org.uk/pfss%20donations.html
Thanks very much for reading this!
