Can anyone identify what the white and pink flower in the forground is, please? It is growing in the bird garden, but probably self-seeded, and it is puzzling everyone.

Sorry Al I can't name it, but I'm pretty sure we had that growing a few years ago near the bird feeders... So maybe something the birds dropped, or something from the seed mix? It's pretty anyway

Thanks, Nicki. A couple of others on different forums have said much the same thing, and there are strange things popping up all over the bird garden that seem to have seeded themselves or the birds have a hand it. I'm also wondering what can be turning all the dock leaves into lace, too. Something looks as if it is actually living inside those leaves and the backs have lots of red blotches on and tracery patterns.

I've got unidentified plants growing underneath where I hung the fat balls in winter. I also have lots of plants growing between the paving slabs on the patio where the nyjer feeder hangs, so I am guessing they are nyjer plants! It is a bit of a pain really as weeding the patio is so time consuming and it is time I really don't have to spare right now.

Ruth may not have hemp - but I did, Elaine! ;D Funny how it suddenly all disappeared overnight and without a trace...
I have some wonderful looking seed heads nearing ripening, and growing on the dung heap. I'll get a photo of them later, and think they may be from the canary/budgie seed mix that I've cleaned out of the bird cages here and dumped into the compost. Once those ripen, and if I can beat the sparrows to any, I'll pick one for the budgies to enjoy. There are quite a few growing in once place. At first I thought they were going to be sweet corn. ;D

This is that plant growing in the dung heap. Millet?

No, it isn't millet, as that has lots of clusters of little round seeds on single stalks. These seem to be becoming fronds of long seeds, such as you get in canary seed packs. Whatever it is, I am fairly sure the sparrows are already eyeing it up and will swoop in possibly before it has properly ripened.
