Hi folks;
Al recently sent me quite a few items from the sponsored Sew-In to sell in order to raise funds for the Rescue Horses. They are selling very well, but someone has asked about the possibility of obtaining a SightHound Day collar (one of the fleece one's) Does anyone know if there is anything still available?
Thanks,
Carrianne

Actually - I'd like to know, too? Or if help is needed over there so I could possibly arrange a day off here to come over and try to sort through with someone?

I could come and help too - one day next week perhaps. The last time I saw Al's work shop it was piled high with materials of various kinds. Of course it might have been cleared by now. Is anyone in touch with Al's son?

I had actually just paid for items, so would like to know if I should just write them off - don't want to put pressure on anyone, but need to buy the leads elsewhere if necessary.
thanks

I think there will be a few people who had bought and paid for items which were ready to post, myself included, but someone who is in touch with Al's family and who lives close enough to deal with it all needs to look into it to either get stuff in the post or arrange for refunds.
Is there any such person?

I have contact details for Al's brother, but am unable to get there myself as it is too far away and I can't get time off work at the moment.

I've had a few messages from people saying they have paid for items but obviously not received them, I think perhaps we should do a thread for people to list these items.
I think it would be very helpful if someone could get in, find what is made up and produce a list, so that we can have a final auction to clear stuff. That should also produce money to hopefully pay off what is owing.
I am unable to come down due to geographic location [and my husband's ill health]
Wendy or Jutta, could you contact RuthE to obtain Al's brother's number and see if you can get something organised please if that is ok?

I think Worriornik used to help Al and possibly had passwords ect, without access to the paypal account / TRPD bank account things will be quite difficult to sort out.
Again, sadly to far away but a thread for outstanding items is an excellent idea, at least peeps would know what they where looking for then

Wendy or Jutta, could you contact RuthE to obtain Al's brother's number and see if you can get something organised please if that is ok? I've PMed contact details for Alastair, and a phone number for Dylan to both Wendy and Jutta. I don't know if the number I have for Dylan is his current one. Sadly I am too far away to help, partiuclarly as I won't be able to take time off work for a while.

There must be a way for someone to get access to the paypal account by asking paypal, but it would need to be a family member I think.
Otherwise how would we know who is telling the truth about payments made to Al?

Dylan had my phone number for when he had got his head round stuff because he was keen to sort everything out. My guess is that he is unaware of waiting orders. I dont have the knowlege or connections of TRPD but Im happy to spend a day with a list of instructions from you all. It may be a good idea to write to him so he at least knows there is a problem.

There must be a way for someone to get access to the paypal account by asking paypal, but it would need to be a family member I think. The person likely to be granted access is the executor of Al's estate - this person can then reassign e.g. a solicitor could sign over to a family member or vice-versa. (I do some legacy admin at work). Some financial organisations require a copy of the death certificate before progressing anything. others have the facilities to check registers online. After a phone call most will freeze the account. I found everyone very helpful when I had to pick up the pieces from my brother in laws estate last year after he died in his 40's. whilst on holiday abroad & with no will.

I'm happy to help this week from Wednesday onwards but not sure what I can do without "official"permission.
I had ordered and paid for 2 coats in the last daily auction. I'm not worried about them particularly but they were to go to an Irish rescue and so I would like them if possible.
Al's family must have a lot to sort out because Al was involved in so many projects.

I had donated a few items for the prize draw but don't know what hadn't been used ...it would be a shame if the rescues lost out & Als stuff was thrown away

It should be possible to tell who's paid from the confirmation emails paypal send without having to actually go into the paypal account itself as it will probably be frozen if they're aware of what's happened.

Most people keep their paypal receipts so if they can produce them you will know they have paid.
If there are sighthound items (not collars as my machine is not industrial) cut out and ready to sew I might be able to take them on and make them up (I am no AL!) for rescues. Same with fabrics.

I always paid by cheque... and I don't know if the parcel for Happy Landings was sent or not. I have no idea whether we'll be able to find out these things soon-ish - my husband is ill at the moment and somebody else who was going over to meet me has a broken-down car....

Im getting desperate for another harness for the Sluke & coats again. If/when anything is available would be nice to keep supporting the groups that Ali supported
