TRPD - Creative Drama/Therapy Writing Course
Continued from SERIES ONE - MODULE 1 – part 1
There are many more questions that you can ask yourself and from which you can gain ideas and insight. Those listed only begin to scratch the surface and hint at your depth and potential for creative work and personal growth.
We suggest that you keep a personal journal relating to everything you do whilst participating in the course and as a reference for later use. It can be very helpful to be able to look back and see how much one has progressed and learned. How your attitudes may have altered and talents and abilities developed. At times you may find it beneficial to repeat a particular exercise, applying it to some present problem, either of your own or perhaps while working on developing fictional characters.
Whatever your answers or reasons for participating in the online course/workshops, please remember – there are no negatives. What may at first appear as such to you, if utilised positively and constructively, can provide the very turning point you may be seeking in your work – or even a whole new attitude and approach to life.
EXERCISES – For those wishing to participate in this course
1. Write a short introductory piece explaining to your appointed tutor what you hope to achieve from undertaking this course and how best you feel they can help you to achieve your aims. (Maximum 500 words.)
2. Study the Personal Questionnaire and select either one or two questions that appeal to you to form the theme of your first piece or pieces of work for presenting to your tutor. You may prefer to send either one longer piece or two shorter ones, either is acceptable up to a total maximum of 2,000 words.
Follow up modules will be based upon your personal preferences and according to what you indicate that you wish to achieve. Your input in this respect is important. Remember, you are choosing to do this for YOU.
Each course series comprises of six modules, of which only this first is pre-set. Others can be drawn from material and exercises already available and that are indicated as being suitable by your answers to the first or, alternately, subsequent modules can be designed and developed to meet the needs of an individual student.
Those wishing to study further and on a serious basis are requested to contact: writers@trpd.freeserve.co.uk for further details.
