These are the babes abandoned in the woods..... and now called Hansel, Gretel and Woody. They have a sister but she is in need of special care at the mo. They came in like skeletons and it was touch and go for them, they are only about 7 weeks old. On 2 hourly feeds! (that's me cracking up finally!!) Woody Hansel and Gretel H & G Little Woody was 1.85 kg when I picked him up - the others just topped the scales at 2 kg.

Hi Jane - feel free to post on lurcher link for me! I have been rather busy to say the least as these littlies are requiring almost constant attention for one end or the other!! I have some more pics but have not really had time to do what needs to be done to get them on line...
The pups are adorable and scrumptious. So tiny and fragile and weigh next to nothing. I love them all to bits. They have all put on a bit of weight since they came here and seem to be flourishing...they make me laugh too. They remind me of baby kangaroos for some strange reason!
Their sister is now on the mend too which is great news.

Awww... But the NEXT lot of fosters can still manage to benefit from the four blankets here and set aside for that challenge, Alison! If anyone would like to help Ajs to win those for HWAR foster pups, all you have to do is post what you know about how Mike's knee was injured and in the challenge thread relating to that. It is a bit like doing a jigsaw, but with words, and if those aren't on the board, then there are various members holding clues (bits of the word jigsaw) and who can help Ajs put it all together.

Aaah thanks Al - well each of the lurcher babes went off with a fleece as it would have their scent on it to help them settle - as well as food for continuity, a few fave toys, and collar and lead.
We now have Skye here waiting for her forever home (15 week old border collie)
....and the next pups, due to come in any day, is another litter of collie pups from a farm in Bethlehem (at the back of the Brecon Beacons). They will be very young when they arrive and will be very glad of a fleecie to keep them snuggly buggly - all the dogs just love em.

That's lovely, and something many members may not realise - about each foster puppy going off to its new home with a fleece that had its scent on it to help it settle into its new, forever home. That can make such a huge difference to any dog that has been through a rough patch but been lucky enough to be helped through by a rescue organisation. It is such a simple thing to help to happen, too, and whether sewing, knitting or simply gathering up unwanted bedding from friends and neighbours for a rescue, or sending an unwanted or outgrown puppy collar and lead. Just making a poster to that effect and asking to pin it up in a local post office or community center, a vet's, pet store or even on a super market noticeboard makes all the difference to having a desire to help animals in the care of a rescue and acting on that desire.

That is a very good point - I hadn't thought that people may not realise I suppose. A good idea about the poster too.....wonder if anyone could make a nice one to that effect??

Why not ask Amy? She's good at posters, and is the Photo Gallery Admin here.
