Hansel is at Many Tears in Wales.
Adoption Procedures:
All adult dogs are neutered, microchipped, inoculated, wormed, and KC vaccinated
We are looking for wonderful, responsible, for-ever homes, that means asking questions and trying to marry up the correct pet with the prospective family. We are not judgmental but we have a very large responsibility to make sure we do what’s right for our charges and you. We don’t have regimental rules on what homes are suitable and which are turned down, but there are times we have to turn homes down. Our dogs are often much traumatized, insecure and sometimes they have also been physically abused, they often need a lot of time spent on them, so generally they are not suitable to be left long periods of time.
Our adoption process
We will discuss your circumstances and try to determine if our dog will be suitable for your home/family/lifestyle/other pets.
All those that will be living with the dog, as well as any dogs already owned, need to come and meet our dog.
If eveyone gets along and seems happy with each other (both dogs and humans) then we can schedule a home visit. A home visit, or home vetting, is done to verify that the new home will be a safe and secure place for our dog to go to.
If the home check passes you can come back and adopt the dog (we do not ship dogs or let third parties collect them for you).
NOTE 1 - Because some people may have to travel large distances to meet and collect the dogs, we often can schedule a home vetting before you come, thus saving you a second trip. However we do not schedule a pre-visit home check unless you have a particular dog in mind and we will not hold or reserve a dog for more then a few days.
NOTE 2 - We have people all across the country who home check for us. If you live in an area that is not covered by one of our home checkers, we can try to see if another rescue has contacts in your area that would be willing to do the homevetting for us. If no homecheckers are available in your area we will discuss your circumstances and may accept letters of reference.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF OUR DOGS, THEN PLEASE CALL 01269 843084 , OR E-MAIL ENQUIRIES TO: sw.vanatta@virgin.net
We are open to the public every day from 10:00 am to 4:00 PM, and accept phone calls up to 6:00pm.
Adoption fee is a minimum of £105
