Written by a member of one of the TRPD Writers' Groups, this is always a good reminder to me to deal with my stress! - Al The Writer’s PrayerLord, please help me to live each day as it is And to stop and to think when I get in a tiz To weather disruptions and all interruptions By the telephone bell and the neighbours from hell And that editor's slave I’d condemn to the grave Who reminds me of deadlines whilst I’m thinking 'breadlines' And the wife who keeps nagging when energy’s flagging And children who say that rain has stopped play But promise me quiet and then cause a riot And from dogs that need walking while everyone’s talking 'Though nobody’s hearing ‘cos everyone’s cheering Some bloke on the box (may he suffer the pox) Who’s just made a packet recording a racket That deadens my head and sends me to bed There to toss and to turn with my brain on a burn And ideas flowing so fast that I’m glowing Until I arise and then realise That all have departed And I’m back where I started! © T.R.P.D. – 2000 - Dai Wyn-D
