Following a number of requests for further information here are some guidelines as to which photograph to submit for charting. You may also want to consider if you want any of the background included or whether you want one image picked out in particular.
The TRPD Cross Stitch Project can turn any picture or even part of a picture into a charted graph ready for you to stitch. Electronic photographs can be changed to black and white or sepia if desired.
The ideal photo is one that is clear, has good colour and contrast, where the light is neither too bright nor too dull. Maximum size of a photo (to be scanned) should be 7x5. If sending a photograph by email please try to ensure not to exceed 1meg.
Please bear in mind that if the photograph has lots of dark patches then so will your stitched piece. Similarly, if there is lots of light colours, the contrast will be very bright. To some degree, photos can be lightened or darkened upon request. However, using a good quality picture to start with ensures the best charting results.
Charts can be made for either DMC or Anchor threads, although recipients are welcome to experiment with their own colour schemes and threads. We recommend using 2 strands of floss with a 14 count or higher aida. A size #24 or #26 needle would be ideal.
Any questions, PM me or ask in this thread. Jane

How much do you charge for having a chart made up for personal use and if say a rescue wanted one to use for fundraising what would you charge for that please.
