Does anyone know of some animal related sayings that could be used on samplers or for little needlework pictures? A while ago there was a cartoon set and doggy version going around of the old verse that begins... Monday's child is fair of face...I can't recall it all, but it began... Monday's dog is a disgrace, Tuesday's dog keeps up the pace, Wednesday's dog stays on the go, Thursday's dog's a so and so...The cartoon pics were things like a very mucky dog leaving paw prints and puddles on a floor; another dragging it's owner along as it chased a cat; another sitting firmly and refusing to move at a pelican crossing that said 'GO' and another cocking it's leg where it shouldn't. There was also one hogging a bed and keeping a couple apart, but I can't recall which day that referred to or what the rest of the verses were! Things like that, or any saying really, could be used for samplers of animals, so if members were to post their favourites, others could share them. Al

I quite like "The most affectionate creature in the world is a wet dog" (Ambrose Bierce). Isn't that just so true? Jane x

www.dogquotes.com/dogproverbs.htmYou can check on here to see if there's anything to take your fancy. I like "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog."

I came across this one today that amused me...
'Will all the people who say it can't be done please get out of the way of the those who are doing it!'
