It's so exciting...Dawn has found a place between Symonds Yat and Ross we can finish our show (that got rained off) and there is an indoor venue (in case it rains again) AND
now for the best bit....everyone who fancies can camp! Hurrah! So now we are thinking of doing a barbie and having a gathering on Saturday night and the show on Sunday. ;D
A great opportunity for everyone to meet up with their dogs and families. The area is beautiful with lots to do, too.
More details to come but it is the last weekend of July....30th and 31st methinks.... ;D

I'm really jealous, way to far away for me to consider, does anyone have a campervan they aren't in need of?

Selina - no way is it too far! We come to Plymouth often (and much further too) for scuba diving!! Unless of course you or your dogs hate travelling. The area is beautiful - come and stay for a long weekend. You'll love it.

I'll see what i can sort out Al - I'd love to come (and I'm sure Ollie would too!) - I'm more concerned about the prospect of putting said tent together once I've purchased one

I've spoken with OH and as we bought our estate car yesterday he said we should be able to go if 1. We can get an estate awning before then to sleep in and 2. He can organise the time off work.
Any chance of a few more details or is there somewhere else I should be looking for those.

It is early days yet for details but I will update as soon as I have more details myself I promise. (I am hoping to visit the site sometime to investigate the whereabouts, the access and the facilities etc) I also promise I will help put some tents up for folks who are struggling...I am aka "tentwoman" having years of camping experience...no tent will defy me!! I know there is canoing and various other types of boating activities and it is not a million miles from Hay on Wye for the literary minded....Ross on Wye is a tourist spot itself I gather. As I say I will find out more about the whole thing and update asap! ;D

We have the chance of a Gathering! This sounds excellent and a smashing opportunity for me to meet some more members, too, it's not all that far away - although it is anyone's guess whether I'd be able to make it on a particular day and so far ahead. However, subject to being fit to drive then and with no joint flare-ups etc., I'll try and make it on the Saturday night but wouldn't be able to camp. Too many animals here apart from personal comfort considerations to consider. If I can get there, Amy, I could probably meet up with you somewhere and give you a lift. If you didn't want to return with me on the Saturday night perhaps someone might have a bit of spare space in their tent or you could take one and arrange a lift home or perhaps to somewhere where you could catch a bus/train back on the Sunday after the show? (Do those things run on Sundays and from Ross or Monmouth to Cardiff?) Al

Just an idea Al, if by the time this comes around you still have smoke damaged pet blankets etc to get rid of perhaps they can be shared out here as there seems to be a lot of people going and distributed to our local rescues or dropped off to others on our way home.

I think I had better organise for everyone to have a name badge when they arrive. At the last few dog shows I have been to, not many knew who I was and I didn't find out who other people were till they had all gone home! Some I could suss out by their dog, but others I missed I will try to get up to Glewstone to find out more about the camping side of things at the weekend, although it may not happen as I think I will have dogs coming out of my ears and the in-laws are coming to I think (no emoticon is quite suitable for that latter comment unfortunately!).
