This board has been specially created so that our very talented, artists and photographers can share with other members their experience and skills, run tutorial theads on how to best utilise things like their photographs to help rescues with fund-raising activities etc.
How you use the board is entirely up to you. All I ask is that you stay on topic here and enjoy yourselves.
Perhaps those of you with more experience could answer a few quesyions here for me, too?
For a start, DIY stores have cheap laminating gadgets available now, how good are they? Can they be used, for example, to make table mats or dog bowl mats that rescues could sell for funds?
Has anyone used the special papers that one can buy for printers and that then enable the printed photo or a created logo to be ironed onto a T-shirt? If so, how good are they?
A lot of the photo-editing programmes allow childrens colouring books to be created or outlines that can be printed onto watercolour or other specialist papers for older/more experienced people to paint. Could there be a market for those to aid rescues?
Those sorts of things could provide items to offer for sale either on the boards here for rescues or at shows and fund-raisers - and I know those visiting here will be able to think of lots more!

Re: T shirt transfer paper. You really need a heat press to make this work, using a household iron results in too many disasters, I know this from experience Edited to add: might be useful to find out the most common program used for photoediting - I use photoshop

I had a feeling that a heat press might be needed for best results! Oh well... As for photo-editing, I have Paint Shop Pro 9. There are some tutorials and community help available for that on the Corel website, but when new to the programme some can appear way over my head. This version has greatly changed from the one we used to have on a much earlier group PC. It does an awful lot more though, and I'd love more time to experiment with it. Al

I have got photoshop. So far have only ever used it for basic easy peasy stuff - but I am inspired by Tracy's tutorial below and might give it a go and see what happens...(ooo exciting stuff - need to get me a portrait pic first though...)
