This is an update on the 3 little pups that were found abandoned in the woods last Sunday:
It was touch and go for them when they came to us as they were so young and they were like skeletons and in very poor condition, poor things.
They had not learnt to walk properly and were still discovering their own bodies. They were quite helpless. Barely weaned and requiring 2 hourly feeds. If it wasn't one end it was the other requiring attention! It was non stop!
They have been settling in and finding themselves since then. They have enjoyed the comforts of a snuggly bed (well 3 to choose from actually)and regular feeds. They have got rid of their worms (good old milbemax) which always helps pups to flourish.
They have started to take an interest in their surroundings and to play with toys now.....and today we had a first....
I always leave the door open for them but they have never seemed to notice it. I carry them outside after they have eaten so they can toddle around, get used to the garden and, if I am lucky, do their business. (Most of the time they do it wherever they happen to be which of course is mostly indoors.)
Anyway they were quite active this morning when I took them out after brekky number 1.
Then 3 hours later it was brekky 2 - and I popped them out having got them out of bed and they had a good old gallop around and did their stuff. I called them all in for nosh and left them for a few mins whilst I sorted out the rabbit.
When I went back in, I discovered they had all gone outside to play - completely on their own. For the first time ever!!!
It is very exciting to see them progress and grow into happy, healthy well adjusted pups.
Thought I'd share that bit of news!!
