I know this is silly but just need to put this in writing to get my head around it. I have just been on another board of which I'm a member to find I can only view a small part of it. Apparently there's been a restructure following yet more trouble there and there are now three categories of membership. Despite having been a member over a year, and a member of their past boards, given to their appeals and done a transport run for them I am classed as a newbie and can't take part in full board activities. It seems that if you have a life and can't sit clocking up posting numbers then you don't count I know it's silly and I guess it's their loss, as I will employ the little spare time I have elsewhere, it's a cause close to my heart and I feel quite sad about it. Time to move on.

Boards can be odd, unsettling places. I'd have thought that 3 layers of membership would lead to even more cliqueness. I have to say I find this board really refreshing, lots of interesting stuff and very friendly.

The interesting thing about this board, is that it is the opposite to just about every other forum board I know of, because it is member-run. There are no bosses, and the staff are simply trusted servants (slaves with their own specific jobs to do) - and, as long as things done are in keeping with the aims and primary purpose of the group as a whole, and don't breach the simple traditions of TRPD or Proboard's terms and conditions, many things almost seem to run themselves. There are always vacancies waiting to be filled if anyone would like to become more involved, and members are free to offer their services even in areas of expertise not necessaily catered for at present by staff posts. All you need to do is ask. Similarly, if anyone wishes to join a team, just ask. ;D This sort of freedom is rare, and personally, I think it is that freedom that encourages everyone to behave respectfully towards everyone else, and as they would like others to behave towards them the majority of the time. There are so many rescues that can benefit here, but it tends to be the ones whose supporters and/or Rescue Representative/s are actively involved and visit regularly that do.

I am sorry to read that.
It is such a shame when a change like that happens. It sounds like it was an unsettled list and they were trying to sort that out but by doing so they have cut away other members.
As you say it is their loss, but it is still unfair.
