Hi, look at this special baby !! what measurements do i need to buy her some summer "kit" and what's available ? her hair will not grow back and her body hair will keep fallin out so what i'd like is ... a cool summer coat made from sun protection fabric (SPF50+ like you get for kiddies). can trpd get this, does anyone know where to get this, can anyone make me one for her ? oh and does anybody want her because SHE NEEDS A HOME she doesnt need an medication for her condition and will always be "puppy like" and have a much reduced life expectancy (maybe 2-5yrs, possibly longer ?) I'm sorry I can't help with the 'body' for her Or maybe... just towelling stuff... I have two sort of bodies that I'm only having "just incase" one of my dogs has an operation... So what size is she? The smaller one of the bodies fits Dicker (Springer Spaniel), but I'm sure would be ok a dog that's a bit smaller than him, the other one fits Baine (like a big golden retriever). If she could do with one of them, let me know. - even if you are clever enough to use one of them just as a template? What's wrong with her and what sort of dog is she? She looks sooo lovely! Can you tell us a bit more? E.g. what she's like with other dogs, cats, livestock.... you know, the usual.

Hi,
this is what her foster home says .... (she is in foster with other dogs)
Precious is a 2 year old, female GSD looking for a home via GSD Rescue Scotland. She is being fostered by me in Newcastle upon Tyne.
She is KC registered and full pedigree but she looks and acts differently because she is a Pituitary Dwarf. This is a condition she was born with, affecting her pituitary gland. The condition causes greatly reduced growth, hair loss, dark pigmentation and a reduced life expectancy. The average life expectancy for pituitary dwarf sheps is 2-5 years, though there has been a recorded dwarf reaching the age of 12 years, Precious is not expected to reach double figures in age. However she is otherwise able to live a completely normal and happy life as a companion and much loved pet.
Precious has no medical needs other than protection from the elements - a warm jumper in the cold, a waterproof in the rain and a bit of lotion in the sunshine to protect her delicate hairless body from sunburn. She will continue to lose the hair on her body as she ages, though her head legs and tail will remain furred. This gives her the appearance of having a very large head & extremities, but she's actually well proportioned under there.
Precious is extremely affectionate and forms bonds very quickly with a favourite person. She loves to be stroked, tickled and snuggled and likes to lie with you on the sofa. She also enjoys her walks and likes to play a lot too. In both appearance and personality she is very puppy-like and will remain this way. She is bright and can sit and give a paw. She is polite and does not beg, is housetrained, clean and sleeps overnight in a crate. She is very good with other dogs, cats and any other animal. She has a very gentle and sensitive disposition and there's not a bad bone in her little body.
Precious is looking for a loving home with someone around most of the time. Although she is okay to be left alone and is not destructive, she craves human companionship and with she certainly deserves it. She does like to play with other dogs so a home with at least one gentle but playful canine companion would be ideal. She needs a home where she'll be allowed to sleep on the sofa and share in all aspects of family life. She is relatively active and can keep up with other dogs on walks etc. She knows her name and would like to keep it.
Precious will be speyed and chipped before rehoming. She is also tattooed.
Feel free to ask any more questions here or email me if you might be interested in Precious - all prospective adopters would be fully homechecked etc. emma@ruffdogs.co.uk

Hi, I have some FAB news !! A wonderful company called "sungrubbies" have agreed to donate some of their sun protective fabric to little precious ! Her measurements are approx (she's a wiggler) neck 14" back length 26" chest girth 24" Would anyone like this little project ... please ? I am happy to pay for the coat to be made and posted to Precious ! If you think you could do this can you please PM me your address for the company to send the fabric to and i'll get it on its little way (its coming from America!!) and i'll draw a little plan of what i thought might work for her Nik - I will send you their details - I managed to beg some for precious (roll ends / offcuts ...) but they do sell all colours by the yard claire x
