He is doing the same to me too. It's quite normal at this level.

Yes, it could well be why I have had no sleep, and yes, that is the same for me too. It is your own body's chemistry doing that. Preparing you for battle and, perhaps, like the old tribes may have 'powered up' with their war dancing etc. or the Berserkers, yes.

If you look through other members posts here you will see that it is not only those of us who will be in the room doing battle who feel that, Jutta and Viv have mentioned it too, I think.

It is very hard to follow all the challenges, which is why it is left for someone not affected to just gather things up and list them. You don't need to keep score, others in the various boards will do that. NOW all you need to do is to get yourself ready for the battle and forget everything else.

Yes, everything does happen extremely fast and your metabolism will feel as if it is super-charged. Your father was exactly the same when he fought at this level for the first time and, like you, as soon as he hit the Masterboard he rocketed up that. Took out lots of opponents and suddenly found himself in the position you are in now.

'Why'? Is not something I can answer. You are a very bright young man with a high IQ, but no, it's nothing like studying for things. If it is going to happen, it happens. Like fate dictates who and where and when it gets you. Your sister was only nine when it got her, remember.

Glyn, this isn't something that anyone can really prepare anyone else for. You can't explain to someone a feeling or sensation of hot or cold etc., anymore that what a stinging nettle feels like and expect them to understand until they have experienced it for themselves.

Yes, some drugs and medications can give one similar feelings and I agree with you, definitely leave anything like that alone!

I would just drink water or a light fruit juice, perhaps apple juice if you have any. Leave the tea, coffee coke and anything resembling alcohol alone when you feel like this. Apple juice is good because it helps to detox you and that s what I drink.

I don't know the answer to that, but perhaps like it. Animal flight and fight instincts would give them a rush of adrenaline to help them, but it is early yet for you to feel as you do, so you will need to try and bring yourself down a bit and get it under control.

Do you have a bath or only a shower in the flat?

okay, strip off and go into the shower for a little while. Just have the water on the warm side of cool. Close your eyes and imagine that you are standing in that waterfall at home where you used to play as a kid. Let the water run over you and imagine that it is both cooling and cleansing and taking away the stress you are feeling. You can stay ther a while and let it do it's work until you feel easier. Then take a drink of water with a pinch of salt, half a teaspoon of sugar and half of bicarb in. That will help you to replace any lost body salts etc.

Yes, sports drinks will be fine and it is not uncommon for some of you lads to sweat like that during a power-up.

Don't let yourself get a chill when you come out of the shower, put a towelling robe on or something loose like a fleece blanket around you that is warm and comfortable.
Soaking a T shirt with sweat usually happens nearer the start of a challenge, yes. You are just a bit sensitive to what's going on.
Make sure you keep your fluid intake up and don't forget to eat, but keep your meals light, would be my suggestion.
Come back to me on the phone when the shower's done its work and you feel better, and don't worry.

These are questions that can wait. Sort your body out first, try and steady your mind as it is racing, and try writing all the questions down,

news.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/hi/sa/healthy_eating/newsid_2132000/2132209.stm - Glyn, when you return take a look at the above link and it will give you some more recipes for making your own drinks - simple enough. If your girlfriend's home by then, perhaps ask her to give those shoulders of yours a massage, too, and your neck and back etc. Whatever will help you to relax, and that includes the same sort of thinks that you might do when calming down that young collie I have heard your family have at home now. stroking always with the lay of the coat hairs and ask her to try some T-touch, just as you were trying on the dog. It might help you a lot to relax, and if you fall asleep, don't worry, it will do you good. It will be what is meant to be. I will be going for a lie down myself in a minute as I'm shattered. Don't let that put you off ringing me though if you need me or if your head starts filling up with questions that you can't email to me and wait for answers to, however, if you can, wait or email them, it would be helpful to me to do so - and good practice for you in advance of the challenge. Patience is invaluable once the challenge starts, because timing can be crucial. Those drum beats and the other pieces of music your dad sent you on CD and told you to listen to, could well have bearing on why you seem so sensitive and reactive at the moment. Even what triggered what happened to you earlier. They are probably pieces originally recorded way back in the early 70s and when the original Masterboard was started. There were a lot of music challenges going on back then and a few bands involved whose members played on that board, incuding your late uncle Paul, and he was the drummer. IF you are listening to copies of the originals, then you are listening to one of those musicians who stated the whole thing off in 1971, yes, the same year Paul died, and aged only five years older than yourself at that time. Paul's 'voice' was his drums, and there may be a track 'Voice of the Ancestors' amongst what you have been sent? It was Paul's actual voice recorded doing the chanting on that. 'Power the Indian' is another track you may have been sent, too. Paul again on the drums and the guitar that is 'awakened' by the drumming was played by Mike - and he could never get the timing right until we (Mike and I) worked out a stage act to 'awaken' him at the right moment. Prior to that he used to go into some sort of trance listening to the drums. The do have some kind of hypnotic effect on him, and I believe your dad played to that Achilies heel of Mike's when things were somehow shifted to put you in the position now of my Warrior playing partner in this challenge, and Mike had to become the Warrior for your dad. I believed that was probably a bit of schemeing and strategy on Mike's and your dad's part and intended to put Mike and I on opposing sides. In the light of my recent win of Mike's scalp, it's only natural he'd be wanting a chance to have go at mine, and no need to explain to you why. I have been winding him up in a few places over my indecision relating to that, and we both know how vain he is. I have worked out quite a bit more now of what theey are planning and what their strategy is likely to be. Don't ask me aout that yet whatever you do, as I would much prefer to wait until we can be face to face to tell you about that! Lol We also have to plan our own strategy, too, Glyn, and that MUST be done in private for obvious reasons. I promised you I'd be honest, Glyn. This IS going to be a VERY big challenge, and I made an error when I thought before that your dad wanted to take the challenge up a level, I am afraid. Some of the symbols he uses are very similar and I misread one. We will have to discuss this further, Kiddo. Don't ask me about it on here though. Can't have our opponents knowing everything we know. We will have to have a pow-pow and plan our strategy very carefully, but I do think Catgut and Mr Mincemeat will be licking their wounds and smarting a fair bit by the time we have finished with them. ;D Your dad deserves all he gets for psyching you as he has been. Until next time - OD

Ok now I totally lost Apart from the fact that they're all totally bonkers - I believe one of the rules of the game/challenge seems to be that Al has to give answers to Glyn's questions (unless asked face-to-face) like this 'openly' on here, that's why it gets the rest of us LOST IN SPACE. I just hope they all know what they're doing, sounds a bit too tough on the old emotions for my liking!
