I have had a request to make up some scenic calendars for some elderly members of various TRPD groups, and with scenes from around the country, including Ireland. If anyone has any suitable photos that we could use, and be willing to allow us to do so, with any profits from the sale of these calendars going into the postage fund for rescues, please could you post them in this thread? I'll ask the TRPD group members to choose the ones they want in their calendars, and there will be a spring, summer, autumn and winter winner announced, so the owners of those winning pics may nominate a rescue to receive a prize won on their behalf. Please also state the location where the photo has been taken when posting them, and the time of year, if not obvious. Thanks.

Oooh I'll have to see what I can find. Is there a minimum resolution that photos need to be?

Something that would look good on an A4 calendar, Ruth... you will probably you'd know more than me about the best resolution?

Ed thinks you would need at least 1600x1200 pixels assuming the picture would be roughly half the page - but recommends asking the opinion of the company printing the calendars.

Hmmm, as I feared uploading them to photobucket with sufficient resolution for something like this makes the photos far too big to appreciate the pictures on the screen. I'll have a look later and see if I can find an alternative photo host which will enable pics to be resized for addition to the forum, but will allow the full sized version to be stored. I think flickr may do this but I don't have time to fully investigate. In the mean time if anyone wants a sneak preview of my other photos they are in the album on s47.photobucket.com/albums/f174/Belle3/landscapes/

I can't get this any bigger cos it's a phone photo, so it's unlikely to be any use!! But this is Wylfa Head on Anglesey. (My favourite walk) Llanrhyddlad, Anglesey. Clifftops near Cemaes Bay, Anglesey. Llanbadrig Church in the distance.

I have just shown one of the people keen for a calendar or two resulting from this thread, and they were very impressed by the photos and have asked me to pass on their thanks to all who have posted pictures. They will be making their selection by mid November, but already have several pictures on their short-list. They especially loved the sunset photo posted by Jutta and the swan and signets of Mary's - but then reeled off several others that I can't remember... ;D
