Was a calendar made from some of these photographs this year or have I not been paying attention? Mary

I need to check up on what's happened to this project, as the printer here on this PC and, indeed, the programmes available to me on this borrowed PC aren't up to the job of doing calendars. The group concerned had copies of all the photos, which they were going to try and get done by someone's son or husband. I'll also try and discover which pictures were used and who the winner was, if any extras are available etc. Thanks for reminding me. (Those responsible for that PC 'death' have a lot to answer for! - and you only know the half of it - if that much!)

Okay, I have some info for you all... Because of the technical difficulties, what has happened is that those who want calendars have been asked to pic a photo from the selection available, and the individual pictures have been printed off to order and calendars made up using those little purse sized calendar booklets that dangle under the pictures. In other words, the same single picture is covering all 12 months of the year, instead of the calendars having 12 pictures and a cover pic. Of the orders received so far, only three of the photos here on the forum have been used and ordered so far, and these as chosen by the calendar buyers. Not counting photos supplied from elsewhere/other groups and not showing on here, the two members and pictures so far used are... 2 x Mary Giles' swan with signets and 1 x Rose Arch in a Somerset Garden and 2 x Jutta's Sunset over Woolacombe Beach It is possible that there will be more orders prior to the New Year and using more copies of these or other photos on here, so it's been proposed to keep a tally up to 31st December, and see how many more might be ordered, then announce a winner for here according to which photo was reproduced the most times to order. I hope that's okay with all here? The PCP postage fund will recieve 50p per calendar sold using the photos, and the person I spoke to said she thought the calendars were selling for £3.99p including postage and an envelope, but that they were only A5 size. They are going to double check that, if anyone is still interested? An alternative might be for members to print make their own in the same way and perhaps make a voluntary donation to the postage fund for using the photo? If so, then perhaps post here which photo was used and when sending a donation, so that we can add those to the photos' tallies? If anyone is feeling more ambitious and wants to do a bigger calendar, using several photos, then again, please post which ones are used for the same reason, so we can get an outright winner.

Thank you for that detailed reply. Will keep a look out for the end result. I am pleased two different photos of mine have been used . I would certainly buy a calendar of one of my photos if it helped the funds Mary

I am sure that Patch would be able to do these using scenic photos, too, if anyone wants them, and they would be a great alternative to the ones with only the single photo and little calendar/date booklets attached. Lovely to see something here to help Wiccaweys Collies, too.

Lovely to see something here to help Wiccaweys Collies, too. Just in case I have just now completed setting up base pages using the same layout as option one of the Wiccaweys design but using TRPD logo and month-related quotes to suit, hope all below is ok For Scenic TRPD calendars, please order via this thread and for Wiccaweys pet calendars please order via the other thread HERE For scenic calendars, I have condensed the urls of the photos submitted here for the project - please choose from the selection as numbered below,or you can mix and match from them and your own photos, or use your own throughout your individual calendar, [ if wanting to use your own I will need them via pm or email ]. As with the Wiccaweys fund raiser personalised calendar I will send through completed pages as jpegs which the buyer simply saves to their PC then print as many copies as you like. Subject to confirmation by Al I would assume they can be the same price as the Wiccs calendars, [£5 per set of complete pages ], with Scenic calendar funds helping TRPD as per post one on this thread. When choosing photos please consider the shape as some may need to be small overlays but I`ll pm if that may be the case, all of them are definitely usable however Example page Submissions : Submitted by RuthEPicture 1Gazeley, in Suffolk, taken Jan 2004 i47.photobucket.com/albums/f174/Belle3/landscapes/P1010048.jpgPicture 2i47.photobucket.com/albums/f174/Belle3/landscapes/P1010057.jpgSubmitted by JackySianPicture 3Wylfa Head on Anglesey i70.photobucket.com/albums/i81/jackysian/UTF-8BSW1hZ2U0MDYuanBn.jpgPicture 4Llanrhyddlad, Anglesey i70.photobucket.com/albums/i81/jackysian/094979e38a8e4972f7432c5da9d4fa71.jpgPicture 5Clifftops near Cemaes Bay, Anglesey. I'm NOT the boss here, Patch ;D - this little project is your baby, and I am sure that the rescues will be most grateful for anything that will help the postage fund that covers the costs of sending parcels/prizes/coldies and oldies coats etc. out to them from the group. Thank you on their behalf for your efforts and hard work towards this. ;D

Tis my pleasure, I love working on things like this Just a thought, when xmas is out of the way I`ll see about maybe offering personalised birthday/congrats etc type card designs for people to print out themselves, if there is enough interest something like that - considering how much general cards cost in the shops but people could have personalised cards done here cheaper this way - hopefully there might be people here who would like them ? They could maybe go in flash and grab sales or be on permanent offer for the postage fund perhaps, I`ll post some samples after chrimbo to see what the consensus is

It sounds a brilliant idea, Patch. I have another one to suggest... How about forming a group here for the insomniacs on ther forum? I've had a really busy day, but something happened earlier to give me an adrenaline surge, and I'm struggling to turn the tap off now, hence wide awake! Have to be up early, too, as doing livestock because the ex is away all day with the ramblers and Moss. I'll be lucky if I get any sleep at all! Spine's hopping, too. Can see me needing to get on the back pad and meditating... Would try a long soak in the tub, but have had too many spasms today to risk it. No way would my son wake up and come to my rescue if I couldn't get out unaided! Ethan also sleeps heavily, so he'd not hear me either! In fact, he and all his blankets and duvets fell out of bed tonight when I was baby-sitting, but he remained fast asleep then - and when I had to pick him up and tuck him in again!

Bless him ;D I just went out to the horses to close stable doors cos it`s got chillier tonight than I thought it would be, a luvverly trudge through a soggy paddock, I need some waders I think And of course the chilly air has got me wide awake as usual, wonder if I can con the horses that a night time haynet needs to be put out earlier but must`nt be munched on til the early hours

I con Merlyn by hanging his morning net on the outside of the window bars. He scoffs that first, but in the morning, he still has most of his night time haynet left and a pile of loose haylage on the floor, so that goes into the rack at the back of the box, just in case he should really feel peckish! The daft old devil much prefers to eat from a position where he can see outside the barn doors, and probably in case he misses something important. However, if he's really 'starving' he will eat from the rack at the back!

Well ! I think Patch has been working well into the night as when I opened my computer early this morning there were all my wonderful calendar pages . I am posting the cover and just one of the pages . I chose the sepia version so that I could write in the spaces. The picture is of my very first little Pomeranian Boysie . He was sent to a rescue completely blind and in the last stages of Cushings Disease. He lived with us for 9 short weeks but he stole our hearts in a very big way. A friend made the picture of Boysie with angel wings and I just love the photo. He is the reason we have our sixth little rescue dog now-----Mary PS I will be sending a cheque for my scenic views to TRPD 98 Robert Street? Is that right .
