Jutta, any sign of Martin cooking up some of those tasty cabbage dishes to inspire Viv yet? I must try a cabbage quiche, or something with pine nuts. I quite fancy the sound of those. Duck eggs make lovely quiches.

At the earliest on Saturday or maybe Sunday, I'll ask him!! (Friday night is self-made Pizza night! ) We've got Katie Thear's book on ducks now, Martin's plans are not quite so confused anymore .. I think it can only be months now until we get ducks instead of years... And I think I know the answer to the current question, have some at home - and am at work until late this evening.

Oh poo, the answer is what I thought it might be, but I don't have any - can't stand the stuff! I got Lemon Curd but none of the other stuff!
Oh well!

When the picture of that jar first scrolled up, I thought someone had posted a photo of baby food, Jutta! Most dosappointed that it doesn't have one of Martin's fancy, cartoon labels on... but you do still win the prize. ;D Which rescue, please? (Oh, and can we have the recipe posted, in case any members fancy making some? It always seems a shame that so man pumpkins get hollowed out and the tasty bits just thrown away at Halloween. ;D ) Next Item:It's common in a stewpot, But no, it isn't round. Roasted it's delicious, And it does grow underground.

Orange-Pumpkin Marmalade (Martin never bothers with proper weights)
scoop out inner bits of pumpkin into a pan and cook it until it is soft, place on colander and leave to drain the water away. Then put pumpkin back into pan with skin and juice of 5 or 6 oranges, simmer gently until the skin itself is soft, blitz with handblender to make it into a pulp, then measure - half a litre of this pulp/juice per half a kilo of jam sugar, dissolve sugar in the pulp and then bring it all to the boil and boil for about 6 minutes. Then bottle it/jar it as usual.
Oh - and could the prize please go to Happy Landings?

Next item: Parsnips ? Here a photo of roasted parsnips: If that's correct, could the prize please go to ARC, the sister org to Rescue Remedies that mainly deals with cats? I hope I won't forget to take a photo tonight when we'll have stuffed cabbage for dinner! And yes, it's a huge shame to throw the pumpkin flesh away, but I must admit I don't really like pumpkin soup or roasted pumpkin, somehow I don't like the consistency of the flesh. I MUCH prefer courgettes!
