For a change - and to win something for a rescue - all you have to do is to solve the clues and then take and post a photo of the item those refer to. (Most of these can be found in the home or a local shop, where, if taking pictures, you might be observed and ejected or else given the third degree, preferential treatment, or offered bribes! A nice easy one to start. Item 1 - 1st clue - This is edible, green and crinkly. If consumed in sufficient quantity, it can cause a degree of flatulence.

Well done, Viv, where would you like your prize to go, please? The next challenge, is to post a photo of a delicious meal made for the family from the item previously pictured. (Coleslaw, perhaps? What about some wonderful 'bubble and squeak'? Truely delicious when topped with some tasty, organic bacon. )

As Sauerkraut is made out of cabbage - is this ok?

But all I see is a tin can with a label on it! (And I can't bear the thought of that cabbage of Viv's going to waste, so hoped to see either some inspirational home cooking using cabbage for Viv's benefit, or even an example of Keith's home cooking. ;D Let's face it, TV's full of chefs trying to inspire us all, so where are the TRPD ones? Don't you fancy growing and cooking your own produce, Jutta? Just think of the difference between home made sauerkraut and whatever processed stuff lies in that tin?

We do grow veg ourselves and do always cook fresh - but haven't had cabbage since this competition! (The cabbage was ALL eaten by slugs last year - hence the duck plans!!!! Therefore no home-made Sauerkraut!) No idea yet what's on the menu today - Martin is in Birmingham today. (Here is his very own cook book, by the way www.lulu.com/content/86820 ) I'm curious to see if Viv will be cooking something herself for this competition - I wouldn't! Cooking is a man's job!!!!

Jutta, when I can find my bank card, I'll have to buy a copy of that book, who did the cover design, btw? ;D I wonder what Martin would cook with that cabbage? Clearly Viv lacks imagination in the cabbage department. ;D

While we are waiting for a photo of a culinary cabbage delight, here's another one for you to display a photo of...
Item 3.
When left forgotten in the fridge, Or maybe on a shelf This dairy product will take on A furry jacket - and by itself!
In shades of blue or grey or green And perhaps a touch of pink, A closer look will sure confirm This stuff can really stink!'

yuk. Our food never gets that old! I'm too much of a pig for that! I can't remember where Martin found that cover design. The name of it is over 12 years old from a meal at a lovely Turkish restaurant back home. Martin says: With that cabbage you can use the large outside leaves to stuff them (e.g. with lightly spiced minced meat) and braise them, shred the rest and either use in a stir fry or blanch and possibly use in a sort of quiche. You could also lightly pan fry it with some garlic and pine nuts to serve with pasta tossed in butter. And I'm soooo full after I just had pasta with a sauce of green beans / bacon croutons / garlic / tomato sauce / feta cheese and a big salad. Where's that wafer-thin mint to make me explode....

I can only think it is my favourite thing - cheese! Sorry no mouldy stuff in the house though, it never lasts long enough for that!

Well done, Annmarie - and I wasn't expecting anyone to post mouldy cheese unless a stilton etc. ;D
Which rescue would you like the prize to go to, please?
Item 4.
Homemade, this is delectable And comes in many flavours. 'Tis sweet and fruity, great on toast, Or sharp in its behaviours.
