... needed please! Having been volunteered to be GRWE rep ... I'm a bit stuck as to what I actually need to do! I know they're after leads (I'm waiting to hear what else at the mo'), but can anyone give me any tips on how/what the best way about getting bits for them is? I've only ever bid on a couple of bits for myself on here previously, so I need some help please! Unfortunately, I can't spend much on buying things for them myself (OH currently trying to set up his own business after redundancy ), so would welcome any advice! Thanks ever so!

A good place to start is to find supporters willing to participate in the weekly and Sunday quizzes and challenges on behalf of your rescue, as that costs nothing and helps to keep the rescues name in focus. So does utilising the rescue forums and updating there with any news from the rescue, details of events they are holding, perhaps some chat about the dogs in their care etc. Members and guests visiting the forum can then read about those and get to know what the rescue does, so when it comes to sponsorship or treating a needy dog to something, it makes it easier for them to choose one over another. Also, have a look at the various project such as the Wish List one, to see what may be available. Spread the word to friends, family and your rescue's supporters about the items we have on offer here, as profits from sales funds the things we are able to donate or offer as prizes for rescues, as well as being good quality and value for money for their own dogs. Where there are two reps for a particular rescue, it is worth liasing and working together so that each of you know what the other is covering, and in that way the workload is shared and you can also pool ideas. There is a calendar facility on here too, that you can post events to, such as shows, meet and greets, fund-raisers etc. As Rescue Reps, you don't need to ask permission, as long as the event is to benefit the rescue is and in keeping with the aims and primary purpose of the forum. I am sure there are lots more things, but do feel that others need to post their thoughts and ideas here, because this is a member run forum, and I am NOT the boss! I just make stuff for the group; see to the packing and posting out, and so on. Also, with the pending move of premises, I'm up to my neck at the moment... Off in a minute to get spouts for the gutters on the building to sort out a problem with damp, and before the rain comes in that's forcast for tomorrow!

Actually, I decided to let Peter go up the ladder and clear the gutters. I just drove to B & Q for new spouts, as the old ones were falling off and too short to reach the water butts in their new positions. Check out for challenges, too, Lisa.
