oooh that's a great idea, we've got lots of bits of rotting wood around the garden I'll stack them together...
Last night we saw a baby Lizard...it was trying to come in the back door LOL
Obviously been talking to the resident garden hedgehog, who came in one night and left a poo on the back door mat...how thoughtful!!

OK this is my newly created log pile It's under the lilac tree which is covered in Ivy, and is in the shade most of the day. The wood is at least 4 different species, and already has at least 4 types of Spiders, a huge Millipede and a slug - YUCK! It also has some interesting fungi growths... I have planted a Dog Rose a few feet in front of it, which by the end of next Summer should provide more shade and shelter and be a dog deterrent!! You can just about see the rose bottom left...

It's been expanding during the week...my wonderful hubby has been helping... and he suggested I also post our log "mountain" This one will gradually diminish though as it was the wood from the cottage renovations and will be used for various projects...and for heating!! Some of it is full of woodworm

It looks to me as if you are the only one who entered and therefore must surely have won? Wish I'd spotted this, and I bet Jutta does too. I don't have a wildlife corner, but a jungle instead of a garden. Only enough cleared to hang out washing, but have some time off due and plans to remedy that. I have even bought a sack of daffodil bulbs and some snowdrops in anticipation.

WHooops sorry I had assumed that the W&W group members also entered...I know many of them don't have Internet access so guessed that was why the photos hadn't gone up...
If the meeting isn't until next Weds, perhaps Nikki, Margaret and Jutta could still enter too?
