Could you offer this gorgeous girl a home to call her own…? Holly is six-years-old, very bright and affectionate, very fond of her food, and the proud owner of one of the wiggly-waggliest tails in the world! She is learning all about playtime with toys, and she will play nicely with other dogs. Sadly Holly was born profoundly deaf, but we will happily work with her new family to teach them how to communicate with her using hand signals. In the right home, Holly may be ok as an only dog; she has been living with another dog and that may also be an option for the future, to help give her more confidence. Holly has lived with cats and we think she would be fine to do so again in future. Unfortunately we don’t think Holly can live with children, as her deafness makes her too easily startled. Could you offer Holly the home she deserves? If so, please get in touch via lisa.webb@grwe.com or 07000 785092 www.grwe.com Registered Charity no. 1131399

Time for an update on the gorgeous Holly - As Holly has now been with GRWE a little longer we have been able to learn more about her. Each and every day Holly is slowly coming along, bit by bit and is much more relaxed. We very much of the opinion that an only dog home where she will only be left for short periods (2-3 hours) is probably going to be the best environment for Holly to thrive in. She could possibly live alongside a calm cat with careful introductions and settling in. Her home will need to be calm, sensible, dog savvy and very patient with her. We recently had an update from Holly's foster Mummy, entitled 'Holly's day out' - Holly went along with her foster Mum to a friends who owns a horse. They introduced Holly and Tessie (a very large brown horse) - they showed a vague interest in each other and stood close to one another, what a good girl Holly was. Then Holly had a lovely short journey throught the lovely countryside and onto an open garden and plant fair where Holly was admired and cooed at by several passers by, Holly then went on to charm plenty more visitors . She was a little overwhelmed by all the people at first, but it didn't take long before she thought it was just a regular walk with an unusual number of people. She showed an interest in the chickens that roamed around freely, but was otherwise impeccably behaved. She soon spotted a tennis court near the vegetable garden and pulled her foster Mum to the closed door! Bless her she thought she was going to let her in for a run! After a while she got a little tired and took any opportunity to lay down (on her side) whilst her foster Mum looked at one stall or another! After a hard day out she had a nice drink of cool water and rested up all comfy in the car for the journey home.

Holly is now, due to her on-going health issues going to stay as a long term foster with GRWE.
I've met her on several occasions and her foster mum and companion greyhound love her to bits and want the best for this very special girl.
