Whilst i am new on here i may know some of you via GGLL and SWT (which i am now fundraiser for) . I have 5 dogs Milo a GH i found 8 years ago in a ditch now aged about 14, who was followed a year later by Meg, a lurcher from the Leeds RSPCA now 9, who was a severe cruelty case and had been removed from her previous owners. 3 years ago i met Andy and when he came to live with me he brought Sherry his little terrier cross that he got from Ponderosa Kennels. Recently we also took on Holly a little whippet cross from TIA and found Grace a stunning lurcher girl that we found abandoned and in a bad way wandering through Bradford. 3 weeks ago my house bunny Benjamin went to the bridge. I miss him very much but for an Easter suprise Andy has brought home a new nethy buck that i am calling Thomas. Oh and i also have Tinkerbell the russian hamster and 2 fish Atalanta and Neptune That is the happy bunch and here are some pics Milo Meg Sherry Grace Holly Tinkerbell Thomas and Meg and my beautiful benj with Milo

hiya xx have you got any tips on how to get pointies to accept small furries? I help with a lurcher rescue and have many non cat friendly dogs needing homes. If we could make them cat friendly they could have a home much quicker Thanks xx

hiya xx have you got any tips on how to get pointies to accept small furries? I help with a lurcher rescue and have many non cat friendly dogs needing homes. If we could make them cat friendly they could have a home much quicker Thanks xx I never noticed this question but i guess the answer is vigilance. I reinforced positive behaviours and a sharp 'no' did the trick although there did come a point where they were allowed to freely sniff Benjamin as he used to sniff their legs so it was only fair. Both Meg and Milo would both chase small furries outside tho so just because they are small animal friendly inside it doesn't mean it will work once outside their home. Meg knew so much she wasn't allowed to touch Benjamin she would squeak when she saw him as if to say 'look he's here but i aren;t looking...honest' Since i joined TRPD sadly my beautiful Milo passed away in May 2009 just 2 months after little Benjamin Bunny so i was glad they were together. Tinkerbell Isoble Scarlet my hamster is also at the bridge now. Little Thomas the bunny in the pic with Meg sadly had a heart defect and died in my arms after being here only a week. I now have Maisie and Tilly tho After Milo passed away we had such a big boy shaped hole in our hearst and homes we decided to look for another dog that needed us. After much searching we found Alan. Alan was 10 1/2 when we adopted him and i found him via the oldies club. Alan was 200 miles away in Essex but Jodie from Castledon Kennels met us halfway and Alan moved in over a year and a half ago now. He is the most beautiful, kind and loving boy. His previous owners had had him 8 years since he retired from racing due to a broken hock but i think they just fell out love with him as he was being kept outside all day and not really walked. To say he is 12 now his condition improved with regualr walks and some vitamins and he fit into our little pack like he had always been there. I know Milo would approve which is saying something Finally 2 and a half weeks ago we were joined by the 6th and most definately the last hound resident of Birdie Towers. Teddy is an 8 month saluki x whippet we believe and sailed across the sea from DAWG in Ireland to be with us. We have fostered puppies before which is both rewarding and heartbreaking but Teddy is the youngest dog i have ever had as a forever dog. He is such a good puppy tho. So that is our little family complete. Meg, Grace, Sherry, Holly, Alan and Teddy with bunnies Maisie and Tilly and little fish Neptune

OH what gorgeous bunnies The dogs are lovely too I had a Benjamin Bunny as a child, he was an Himalayan and lived to 10 1/2 which was wonderful - he had striking red eyes. I used to walk him on a harness I'd made myself from baby reins - people didn't walk rabbits in those days, so I was considered very strange I was a deprived chiild though and not allowed a dog, so made do with a rabbit - he was very much loved and I have many happy memories of him. Alan has the most adoring expression - you have a wonderful houseful of companions
