Not sure if this is the right place to post this here, but I have had a cunning plan - like I always do
Now we all know how horrid it is when our dogs injure themselves and they have to wear the elizabeathan (cone) collars, so after hearing about someones recent need to keep a T-shirt on their dog instead of the cone, I wondered about making "body suits" to put on dogs to cover up the areas that they have injured, reduce the need for a cone on and keep the area clean and dry.
I want to pick your brains before I start out on this idea.
* material - I am thinking plain cotton would be best for covering the wound, and I can get a very nice soft netting to use as a string vest - for when the stiches/staples are out and the air needs to get to the wound.
*pattern - I want to make a half body suit for front end injuries and a back end, plus an all over suit, I would need sizes to make but having never really made full body suits I havent a clue where to start.
I thought this would be a great idea as my girl hates the cone and spent a lot of time with holes being patched up, I tried alternatives to the cone but because she is a lurcher the botch jobs would slide off or roll up leaving the area exposed. I would try her out for a model and to see how things stay put - no wonder she has a long suffering look on her face most of the time
Obviously this is very much on the planning stage so any feed back is very much welcomed
