Seeking treasure isn't the priority of members of the group, although it might be nice to find some. Discovering clues to the past and examining those, and getting exercise in the fresh air and countryside, are the main attractions for the members. During the last twenty years, the land adjacent to the Cwm Clydach stables has yielded many clues upon its surface to past use and the generations of people that have passed over it. Could those items provide clues as to what might lurk beneath the turf? That is the question that triggered the formation of this small group. During the first, brief, exploration using a metal detector, it registered literally hundreds of metal objects in the one area where members of the Woodland and Wildlife group gather turf for projects and rescue seedling trees each year and before the horses trample those. Although rain stopped play, here are a few of the those first findings, made on 6th May 2007... Members are there again today and further updates will follow.
