Just had a request for urgent help to rehome a one year old, small, fawn lurcher bitch. She is vaccinated and good with women and children, but apparently very afraid (fear aggressive?) of men and possessive over her food, so has to be fed separately. The owner intends to send her to the pound or have her pts imminently unless a rescue place or home can be found. She is currently in South Wales. Please can anyone able to help contact me? alison@trpd.co.uk

Yes, by all means cross post, Amy. I have put it on Sighthounds online and Greyhound Gap, and made a number of phone calls but no joy so far.

Thanks, Amy. I left a message on Donna's phone, and have also given out a phone number to a couple of people via Sighthounds Online who may be able to take her on, but nothing confirmed yet.

Right, she is now safe and with Wendy in Cardiff. She is certainly a bit on the nervous side, and really needs a chance to settle and regain some confidence before she can be properly assessed. She looked to me to have the potential to become a very beautiful and loving dog in the right hands, but she is going to need time and a lot of confidence rebuilding. Wendy will probably have her sprayed and checked over by a vet before taking things any further. It could be that she will need a very special home where she can develop a one-to-one relationship with a very patient, quiet new owner, and recover from any stress experienced to date. For now though, she is safe.
