Am I missing something here, Annk? Yes! I do believe you are missing a title by your name. Something like Rescue Representative?
Being a mere humble, visiting scribe there's nothing I can do to help, but I don't think you have to ask to put in any rescue's links.
What I can do is leave Al a note to turn you into a rep and therefore the powers to manage your rescue's posts etc.

I dont want to be a rep for them, just passing on a request from them to be added to the link page. I have no connection to their rescue apart from nominating them for any prizes I win in the competitions/ quizzes. Unless of course they benefit from it, then I will gladly be their representative

Yes, they would benefit, Ann. Rescue Representatives have access to a few extra facilities on the board and can action posts to help publicise events their rescue/s are holding, post details to the calendar and also have a private meeting room/sub-board in the staff room where they can share ideas and discuss how to best use the facilities here on the board. In effect, the Rescue Reps have a fairly free rein on the various rescue forums and run those for the benefit of all the rescues cocerned. What a Rescue Rep does, or doesn't do, is really up to them and whatever time they have available. The only times an administrator might step in would be, perhaps, to make a suggestion, share an idea or if, for example, something controversial and/or destructive or detrimental to another rescue was posted. Simply common sense stuff. I'll now go and wave my wand and turn you into a rep. Oh, and it is now up to you to post whatever links your represented rescue require. Nick is correct when he says you don't need to ask.

GRUS are active in finding homes for retired racing greyhounds and to a lesser extent - but of no less importance - rescuing abandoned and mistreated greyhounds and looking after them in certified kennels or approved foster homes until they can find suitable permanent homes for them . They are based near Swindon. www.greyhounds-r-us.co.uk

Looks very good to me Ann although I have no idea where Cricklade is - not even sure I know where Wiltshire is actually - but I do know where Swindon is so guessing it is Wiltshire! Good luck raising much needed funds. Perhaps you could put a post in the forum which contains events (don't ask me where it is, I get lost round here I'm afraid!)
