Al thank you SO much for the wonderful parcel of fleece offcuts and other pieces which arrived safely - complete with Budgie feather I found some great patterns online for fish shapes {which could be altered to make a mouse} and bone shapes sewing.about.com/od/freeprojects/tp/petsheltersewinglist.htmETA just found some great designs here too - also a wonderful idea on enclosing the squeakers so they don't get them out so easily - encase it in the waterprrof fabric. I think if you left a long end, you could sew that into the seam so they couldn't pull it out at all. www.make-and-build-dog-stuff.com/dog-toy-patterns.htmlHoping to get the sewing machine set up this week and get going - I ordered the squeakers off e-bay cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120545424724and they arrived next day. I have lots of stuffing and will try to find some felt to make some eyes - I think it's prob best to attach eyes with a cross stitich rather than glue - I know mine to tend to pull off anything that's attached LOL and I would worry about glue being toxic. Going to plait some fleece strips too to make legs - I also have sheepskin offcuts {known as "mousies" in our house!} which mine love, so might add those to the mice to make tails Will put up some photos once I've made a few. It's giving me something to focus on...

Whoops! Sorry Nicki, the budgies are moulting and their feathers are getting everywhere at the moment, especially onto my clothing, and from there, into parcels! The bigger ones make handy additions to cat toys! ;D If you want more off-cuts, let me know.

Oh no Al I'm not complaining, it was lovely ;D Really sweet to see - I had a budgie as a child, and later had a Love Bird, but have not had birds for some years now.
Let me see how I get on with these bits...

I've finally managed to sort out the photos These are the ones I made: just prototypes, seeing how they stand up to the destructor force puppies!! What have you got sis? Honestly Mum I think it's got me not the other way round The bones are the easiest to make, Humpty Dumpty takes ages but I really like him! The spaceship flyer didn't quite come out to plan, need to work on that. The diamond cube is a bit fiddly but great for using up small pieces.

They look great, Nicki, and I think they have been Cav-approved, too. I'll be starting to cut winter coats again soon, so the offcuts will be building up faster then. ;D
