We are all happy to donate, win and send items to you, but what do you actually want/need? It has to be light enough to send, and not massively dear. I have just donated pens, some donate cleaning bits. Is that what you want? I wouldnt want to be the rescue that knows what has gone into the item but doesnt actually want it. Can you give us some ideas please?

As a erscue co-ordinator, I can say that one think I think all rescues constantly need that is easy to post is stamps, perhaps a book of 4 stamps 1st or second class would be extremely helpful, also the cleaning cloths etc.
I think this is a great topic as I for one used to send lots of parcels out but with the new postage costs found that toys etc were costing way to much to post on a regular basis.

*bump* because this is a good topic ...
another thing is "thank you" cards because sometimes someone goes that extra mile for the rescue and you do want to thank them but it is a bit of a "would like" expense to go and buy one.
do any TRPD groups make them i wonder ?

what about those white gloves like doctors use - i used to use them in rescue to protect my hands a bit - if you took them out the box and squished into a bag it might get smallish ?
does anyone use them ?

Claire x The rescues I know do use them for treating dogs with mange etc and to stop cross infection with the pound dogs in particular.. I have sent loads of boxes off to rescues...they don't weigh much. I buy mine from Tesco's where they sell the long cuff ones...40 gloves for under £4 which i think is very good. They fit most hands and are quite strong Carol

Any sort of writing paper, notelets and enelopes, you can sometimes pick these up at car boot sales and charity shops new in packaging for just a few pence, even a writing paper pack. Cleaning cloths the throw away kind or sponge scourers also come in handy.

Oh yes. I have got through 8 stamps this week alone. The phone bills are climbing too for us. I topped up my phone twice last month, whereas it used to last more than a month.

For me at the mo, High Strength flexible joint. 30 tablets last a month and I get through two tubs of those a month. Approx £4.00 each. And Any vitamin a capsule, Holland and Barrett do those. Approx £3.50 each. I can also donate some Burns sample packets as prizes if that helps anyone.

Definately stamps thats a great one Any "reward" vouchers given by supermarkets, Sainsbury, Tesco's etc....these are really useful to use when buying Tombola items. We raise a tidy sum with our tombola BUT its only good if the prizes are donated and so don't cost us anything! Gift Vouchers is another good one (again to buy tombola items with) Hmm that's got me thinking now!......... oh yes, good quality wormers like drontal etc Thanks, you are great people
