... my dear, 17 years old Renault Savanna estate-cum-muck-truck. ;D I have been dreading this new MOT test, as if vehicles fail they have to remain at the garage until any work needing doing has been completed. Luckily it didn't need anything urgent, so I was able to have it straight back. Someone once told me that an average car's life span equates to it aging seven years for every one human year. I guess that makes my old motor 119 years old - about what I feel, but the relief that it has passed the test is considerable.

Good grief! I do NOT believe it!
Does this mean you will celebrate and treat it to a bath - inside and out, Al? ;D

Good grief! I do NOT believe it! Does this mean you will celebrate and treat it to a bath - inside and out, Al? ;D Probably not, Jack. It's far too cold and the shock might be detrimental to it. Besides, all the mud and muck is probably providing it with insulation. ;D Of course, if you are offering to clean and bath it, I might be prepared to risk it.

Good girl, Alison! Cars should never ever be washed, especially not inside! (Only the windows can cope with the occasional wash for security reasons) Alison, is your trusted old car growing moss yet? I always wanted to grow forgetmenots on the moss at the window-plastic thingies, but with my current (old) car the moss just doesn't want to start growing!

You'd be amazed what my old car grows, Jutta - especially if the bags of bird seed leak in the back and start growing in the escaped bits of compost and horse manure, dampened by condensation.
