Today myself and Al (along with Louie & Scampi) went exploring as to potential areas for group dog walks. Today we went to Llanwynno Here are the two main explorers ;D There were lots of fun things for dogs to do like wading:- and rolling the walk was relatively quiet and pretty with a lovely view at the top at the bottom was a picnic site / car park and the biggest bonus :- The Brynffynon Hotel So you have a lovely area you can walk a variety of different length walks and can end it all off with a drink or a meal at the pub. ;D (Only warning apart from fox poo is that its next to tracks where people can ride motorcross bikes and the noise can freak some dogs out)

Here's Amyjo & Louie... could be he's being ticked off for all the leaping into mucky pools of water and being told to expect a bath when he gets home. Some views taken during the walk... And the bikers, who were a friendly bunch This is the building that is to be demolished... and the view down over the land where that is... And a lovely pool we passed with duck weed in... ;D

If anyone is interested in meeting up for a dog walk in the area, please can you post here, so we can get some idea of numbers? If interested in a late Sunday lunch, those have to be booked in advance and eaten either in the bar or outside, if fine, and if your want your dogs in the pub with you. They are allowed in the bar, but not in the lounge.

Anyone else interested?

About an hour or two? I don't mind, but no extremely long trekks as it takes me a good 1.5 hours to 2 hours drive to get to that area, When... September sometime at a weekend? (I think there's more chance of relatively good weather in September than in August!!!). Martin is wondering whether Castle Goch area wouldn't be good, too, for a walk together?
And may I steal Scampi? He looks adorable!!

We'll need to check out the possible routes a couple of days before, as they are scheduled to do some clear-felling in some areas shortly, but I can probably arrange that with my ex or son. However, it may be best to arrange a suitable date/time to meet with Amy, as I'll be between either my second and third or third and fouth chemo cycles at that time, therefore can't be relied upon to join in on the walk, although perhaps Roni could, and she knows the area, as does my son, in case we need to vary the route from the one Amy recced.
We'll also need to book the roast dinners in advance. If it's only a few people, then luch could come first, then a walk, if more, then perhaps the walk, then the 4pm late sitting?
Autumn walks in the area are also stunning when the leaves are changing colour in the broad leaved areas. Winter, when there's snow, frost and icicles on the trees, are fantasic, too. Spring in the larch woods, quiet etheral. ;D It's like Canadain scenery in places, and easy to get lost if you don't know the area and lie of the land, though.

Maybe we should do an autumn walk, a winter walk AND a spring walk? Sounds brilliant! (Not that it's overly ugly here... ) Anyway, I hope Amy and I can do some planning 'in person' soon when she hopefully comes near here and we take a walk in 'my' area
