I believe that it was used to describe anything sharp, but that Shakespeare used the word instead of Dagger!?

Thanks Ali. I enjoy answering these questions, but I'm not so good at asking them! Here we go then. The plays of Shakespeare are generally regarded as fitting into three categories or types! What are they. (Hint: Each is a one word answer)

Thanks Terry At the end of 'Macbeth' Macbeth is killed by Macduff fulfilling the witches prophecy that 'none of woman born shall harm Macbeth' - how has this prophecy been fulfilled i.e. why is Macduff not 'of woman borne'? P.S. is this a good time to mention that my ex day job was as an English teacher ;D

Welcome Jules. It's great to have such a scholarly addition to our little corner here.
the answer is: When MacDuff & MacBeth confront each other MacDuff announces he was born by caesarian and not "natural means". Thus was able to kill MacBeth.

A nice easy one from me.........
In 'Hamlet' what was the name of Hamlet's best friend?

Hamlet and Horatio went to school together, and remained best friends! It was to Horatio that he said:- "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it." Will that do Jules?

Macbeth was a particularly blood thirsty fellow! What methods did he employ to dispatch his various enemies? Bonus points will be awarded if you also identify some of those he killed!!! Sorry about this question, but now we'll really put Dave and Jules to the test!

He stabbed King Duncan with the daggers He used hired hands to dispose of Banquo and his son Fleance (although Fleance escaped!) He also sent a batch of assasins in to dispense with the Macduff family He used a sword to slay Macdonald He used his sword again to slay Malcolms soldiers in the battle scenes at the end of the play
